Well ofc. You can't just send away a group of archers or mames as you mentioned and then go afk for 3 mins and hope that your enemy will be dead when you come back. You have to micro as always ...Onagers pwn patrolling archers. And patrol get annoying sometimes because of a certain problem; you set a group of Mamelukes on patrol and an army of Teutonic Knights and pallas approaches and instead of attackinng the pallas who they own, the mams attack the TK's who they have 0 chance against.
They would win, yes. Becuase while all 40 paladins of your run really close to eachother and stand "inside" the enemy's army and all paladins would hit while the enemy's palas would bump into eachother and run around idle. You can do a test in singleplayer, scenario maker.if 40 patrolled paladins would engage a group of 40 paladins that arent patrolled, the patrolled ones would win easily?
