the president is gonna make a statement soon, i dont have the details but they said that the united states got him so im sure it was one of our strike teams, they say it had to be proven and that he was actually killed a week ago but they had to get DNA proof to prove it
Well okay, Osama dead, now various other men are probably waiting to take his spot. I see it more as a symbolic kill and definitely not something that will solve things automagically. Especially if you see how inactive he has been over the past few years and how active all the splinter groups from Al Qaeda have been then I'm curious what the consequences of this will be...
hm.. but doesnt superman says.. "Everyone needs saving" ??
Just hypothesizing.. what if.. US had brought him to the table and discussed the issues instead of bombing him out ??
they didn't bomb him out. they launched a ground operation to capture him but it erupted into a firefight... reports are they were using women in the mansion as human shields
Well to be honest (and from just judging from the news paper) I think it was wrong to kill him :S , but in the other hand if he was captured is just a long ****ed up trial and then he would get the death penalty anyway. ... yeah imo wrong, but easier.
of course, people will try to draw dramatic and ridiculous parallels between what bin laden did and what western countires do, but you would have to be stupid to not be able to see the difference.
Actually, I am just playing Devil's advocate.
We all are taught that violence begets violence.
Osama used to say that those 9/11 bombings are are the result of what happened in Iraq or with Israel.
After that.. US decimated 2 countries, killed millions and lost thousands of lives.
But did they find peace ??
Why is it that US is most hated country in the world ??
Killing an Osama will not stop this reign of terror, tomorrow there could be 100 more like him. They will make him a martyr.. dont you think ??
i think you're sounding an awful lot like an osama bin laden apologist, which i can't understand why anyone in the world would be....
this is bigger than the US vs. Osama... Osama killed thousands of innocent civilians purposefully in dozens of countries throughout the world, he had to be either killed or captured and he was
As i said, I am just playing Devil's advocate .. Dont hate me for that !!
And actually you said a very good thing here.. this is bigger than the US vs. Osama
Yes he ordered the killing of thousands of civillians, a horrendous act in any civilization, but the issue of terrorism is so much bigger than him.
By extending a dialogue, US could have shown a lot more maturity and sincerity, IMHO.
Oh btw Osama is not real, it's made up character by USA government to manipulate silly americans, they just needed an enemy as a distraction so they have free hands to realize their own evil plans. true story.
