I leave AoCZone for one night, come back and find I've slept through another drama thread. Good job, guys!
I dunno Zero, what are you hoping to gain from creating this thread? I don't think Katsuni will be lying awake at night at the thought of not being hosted by you. :D
Yes it was in poor taste, but it's a complete non-event. If everyone in AoC made a thread when someone said something personal about them...
Katsuni and Zero are both popular faces in the community, and whether they like it or not, what each says about ANYONE, has an impact in the community. There are probably over a thousand regular players, but there are only a handful of casters who get >100 views every time they stream. What each player does has way smaller impact than what a streamer says to hundreds of people live, and then the other hundreds that see it in a replay.
People that have gained popularity from their work and dedication will always be held to higher scrutiny than the average Joe. Fame, even if it's in a small community, comes with responsibility.
Last but not least, Katsuni clearly directed it as a personal insult to Zero. When Memb and Katsuni call each other names, it's clear bromance banter and nobody complains. Complete opposite of what happened here. There is a history of disagreement and neither side is more than an acquaintance to the other.
This community has had a cognitive dissonance regarding Katsuni for a while. He posted a bunch of games, spent a bunch of time casting and somehow that elevated him to saint-like status in a lot of people's minds. Fact is the guy's always been a total creep/weirdo, and the fact that he is oblivious enough to comment on other people's personal appearance is... startling, to say the least.
Finally someone mentions about this I have always thought the same from the beginning of katsuni apperance on streams. No offence but i see him as an 40+ yrs old pervert arrogant thick head weirdo. 11
What exactly is the impact? Are you suggesting that Katsuni's comments will somehow drive Zero's audience away from aoe?
The fact is, making asinine remarks is bad behavior at worst and may probably turn away some of the viewers from Katsuni's channel. But, the remarks would hardly turn away viewers from aoe.
did anyone notice how katsuni compared zero to sid from ice age? ROFL
Read again his post. Not saying that. just a bunch of homophobic insults barely concealedI've read through the whole topic and I have to agree in some ways with Scotia Pict. Do people really care that much how one caster calls somebody in his stream (30 seconds from the 1.30 hour long stream btw)? Do I really have to leave someone's chanel for good beacuse he insulted someone who is, if you think about it totally irrelevant in your life? I'm starting to feel I'm one of the very few who follows chanels, watches games for the entertainment value of pro games from my childhood's favourite game, not for these ridicuolus dramas and **** like that

They both represent AoC. If something generally perceived as a negative attitude is encouraged and common on an important channel for the game, it will most certainly not have a positive impact, and won't help the community grow.
The bigger impact comes from the fact that they both have bigger audiences than the random 1600 player that calls his pocket a noob/*****/dummy for not sending kts early enough.
Saying it's bad behaviour at worst implies that you think it may not be bad behaviour?
When you find a media source to be painful, you don't just drop your interest but find a stream that you find more to your taste.

I rate it more as childish behavior. Admittedly, though, I was a bit generous to Katsuni there.
On your other point, I don't think a streamer's bad behavior turns people away from the game but instead they turn away from the stream. Turning to other streams is common.

The guy is obviously projecting his insecurity on you, you shouldn't give the guy any attention. After all, his streams get him like 50 viewers top whereas yours get you almost 1000. If anything he's just jealous about your success. I'm actually confused to why "looks" are so important for Katsuni when streaming, it makes no sense.
Just my unbiased point of view.

Katsuni streaming for what 2-3 weeks? He often get more than 200 viewers without trying hard and just for fun, I appreciat both streamer(zak/katsuni), but if I had to make topic any time a aoc guy insult or mock me, there would have more topics of me than pics in aoc zone. Really not necessary to make this topic, totally useless and katsuni will probably not even read it, and pretty sure if he does it probably wont be the last time he will say such thing, because he is free to says what he want on his own stream, and if you take katsuni seriously then you really don't understand well the person.

Now I do find Katsuni to be annoying sometimes especially when Memb streams, he makes awkward comments and racial slurs that goes unnoticed every now and then -- one of these days his comments are gonna get Membs channel suspended which would be unfortunate.

Not sure what that means, I'll assume you're implying that I'm right.
