I know alot of players who used to be better than me but they are at the same level now at which they were 6 months ago, so forcing someone to play in a higher rated lobby will only discourage him because at the starting rate in NPL which is 1200 and in MS 1600 the difference in skill level is just huge.

That is true, 1600 is just way too high for any new player. (80% of MS account are below 1600 iirc)
The problem still persist in NPL now though, because 1600's from MS are allowed to play in NPL and beat up on new players. The main issue though is since smurfing can't be prevented, so nothing can really be fixed. Combine that with the staff doing manual kicking of players and you quickly see why it's not really a consistent or effective solution to the problem.

SouFire said:If taff would be here he could do something, i mean the rating decay, the tg and 1x1 rating separation was pushed by 3 players chris, jordan and viper, but this suggestion is pushed by more players but looks like nothing is going to change because there is no one with enough weight in voobly that supports the idea.
One 1400 complains about not getting games in NPL and getting owned in MS and immediately they created a new useless lobby for one single guy complaining not even asking politely or suggesting anything, in fact NPL was born by the same complains about guys getting owned in MS, i feel like voobly administration has lost his connection with the community, most mods are CS casual players, so the decisions are being take by non RM players, sadly Robo has not enough powers to take charge of the RM stuff.
If nothing is going to be done, then they only left us 2 options, stop playing due inactivity or join with the smurfs in NPL, i'd go for hte second one go there and do monk rush, vills push or whatever you want until enough -new players- complain about getting owned so voobly will do something but im afraid more lobbies could rise
Agreed, I think the loss of our main RM staff this year was a real blow to any voice this side of the community (AoCZone) had. It's quite frankly weird that Voobly would ignore the complaints of higher skilled players who have already talked about longer wait time for games (TG in particular) for awhile now. The competitive players are one of the defining characteristics that distinguish Voobly from Steam/GR - you'd think they'd care more about it :/
Even if people complain about too much competitiveness, a overall "nooby/casual" client creates just as many problems.

Anyways, as the tone of this topic has shown, nothing is going to be done unfortunately. There is a lack of Dev power in the Voobly staff for a long time now which is why it's hard enough to get even basic features implemented.
