Nomad Wars Duos - 2v2 mixed 'Nomad' style tournament - in aid of Homelessness

Hello all, I am happy to reveal my next tournament! First off though, I just concluded hosting my first AOE2 tournament which finished last month. A 1v1 Nomad only open to all elos and spread out across over 6 brackets. The tournament was very well subscribed and we had over 200+ people sign up. I was very surprised. My initial plan was to limit brackets to 32, but I decided to let people sign up to extend the tournament. There were 487 total games of Nomad played so there was a **** load of different matchups with the settings of the tournament. I am very happy with how it went and I am now pleased to be moving on to my next edition of Nomad Wars.

Nomad Wars Duos is a 2v2 event using the standard DE 'Nomad' style maps. This will be a CHARITY event! In Nomad we spend our time looking for a place to our TC and quite often or not we need a helping hand from someone else too. Because of the nature of Nomad, it only seemed right to have an event in aid of Homelessness. Homelessness is quite a terrible thing and a lot of the people affected by it are quite misunderstood and marginalised. The Winter is a terrible time of year and I couldn't imagine doing it on the streets. It's time for us to help out some people with Nomad gameplay IRL.

I'm aiming for $500, but I'm confident we can smash that! Ideally that would be an end goal to have a Masters of Nomad, I don't know when and it's going to take some big $$$, but it's a goal of mine.

 

Sign ups going alright so far, about 45 teams signed up across the brackets. Could do with plenty more though!

Sign ups close at the end of the month. Would be great to have at least brackets of 8 in the ones with the least sign ups, and get up to 16 in 1.5-1.75k.

Nearly $250 of the 500 goal raised already before tournament starting.

 

Oh, and I meant to mention. We have a custom map mod under “NWDuo” removing the treaty issue thanks to TechChariot.

 

Signs up close in 3 days on Dec 31st (NYE). I will prep the brackets and they will be released on stream Jan 2nd with tournament start on the 3rd.

How we’re looking:

Sub 1k: 7 teams, 14 players
1k - 1250: 21 teams, 41 players
1250 - 1500: 43 teams, 97 players
1500 - 1750: 15 teams, 34 players
1750 - 2k: 6 teams, 14 players
2k+: 6 teams, 13 players

213 players signed up in total. In a totally ideal world we still need a few sign ups.

As an absolute minimum.

1 team for sub 1k.
1 team for 1500-1750.
2 teams for 1750-2k.
2 teams for 2k+.

Bracket placement is subject to change upon checking of accounts. I’ll guarantee entry for EVERY team, provided there’s no shady business going on.
