we all know the slow paced dark age and at least I love and hate it at the same time.
On the one hand it is peaceful, gives you time to think and is just the nature of AoC kinda. On the other hand it is mostly the same every game, thus gets boring after a couple of games.
So my idea is to speed the dark age up by giving every player an additional number of vills.
This obviously does change a few things, such as having less time to scout the map before action happens or possibly having an awkward start due to the number of vills and far sheep. It might affect the impact of drushes and whatnot.
Note that chinese will still start with +3 and maya still start with +1 villagers.
Furthermore I think it is not really profitable that maps are created that have all different altered numbers of vills and/or resources. Probably it is also a wise decision to change as few things as possible, so we don't have a totally exotic start.
So my suggestion would be that we develop a new standard start besides the 3 villager start we have.
Please, don't get me wrong! I don't want to replace the standard start we have, but open up a new possibility.
I have changed Dry Arabia and Islands so that you start with 6 vills and 2 houses (even as huns).
