i am playing this game from 1 year still 15+ though :P
just came to know that millitry patrol command can help,
can any good player will explain how that works and why that is effective?

When you select army units, and right click for them to go somewhere, they won`t stop nor attack until they reach their destination - in other words, if they encounter any enemy units, they`ll rather all die than stop moving (they won`t attack nor defend until they reach the desired place).
With patrol "trick", you select your army units, click patrol and click where you want them to go - now depending on their stance (aggressive, defensive, stand, no attack) they might engage in combat as soon as they meet any enemy unit/building. It means they probably won`t reach that place you clicked, but they`ll fight instead of being slaughtered. If there is no enemy on their route, they`ll start coming back to the place from where they started moving (logically, they`re "patrolling" ) - so keep an eye on that.
You may even select patrol, then hold shift and click to set waypoints, with last waypoint clicked without shift. If you set the last waypoint on the same place they`re at the moment, they`ll patrol in circles (1-2-3-4-1-2-3-4...), if not - if you left click the last waypoint - they`ll patrol till the last waypoint, and then in reverse (1-2-3-4-3-2-1-2...), while if you right click the last waypoint, they`ll again go in circles (1-2-3-4-1-2-3-4...), no matter if that last point is where the units currently are or not.
Patrol is also useful for setting some patrol routs not to get surprised, but it`s mainly used so your military units fight the enemy as soon as it`s possible - not just to walk by it, under enemy fire.
No problem The best way to understand it completely is to try it yourself - either against computer in a standard game, or you may even open map editor and try it there - place come enemy units and some for yourself, and check how it goes
Patrol is rox micro. Can be used for most units. Its most used in sea maps, when ur ships should attack other ships. Also, for arabia, cav archers is sometimes nice to patrol vs knts or infantry (but need to take care if enemy has too many knts ^^). Keep in mind that 70-80 samurais can kill 100 enemy samurais, if u use patrol and he dont. I made some tests with friend, when 20 husars kill 30 husar, and I lose only 12 units. But such a great results are rare. But true is patrol makes ur units somehow stronger, I dont know if its about increasing attack rate (attack speed) of unit. Or patroled unit has priority in attack (they always attack first)... There is only one case when shouldn't use patrol: its when u cav archers attack enemy, but enemy has onagers... That can cause some terrible results from my experience :D Sometimes patrolled units dont attack instantly enemies, its a bug I think. U can also combine formations, and agreesive/defencive stance. So, no matter if u put them on patrol, u should always keep watching them, because every patrol isnt good patrol. Sometimes u need to repeat patrol few times, while ur enemy is attacking u, until u get good patrol.
The art of patrol and military micro is the strength of CS.
Basics: With standard hotkeys, z = hotkey for patrol. Basically, patrolling your military units will make them attack any enemy unit in LOS (Line of sight). The patrol in AoC has a 2-3 second delay before they initiate an attack. In AoK, they'll attack instantly.
Average level patrol: You have 4 different stances to use with a group of military units (Aggressive, Defensive, Stand Ground and No Attack). Each is extremely useful when applied properly dependent on the situation.
Aggressive stance patrol will mean your units will try to attack anything in sight, and normally involves your units running everywhere. Easiest patrol to use.
Defensive stance is basically the opposite effect of Aggressive. They will still auto-attack, but they tend to bunch together more. I tend to use this one more when elevation is involved to maintain an advantage.
Stand ground patrol is mainly used with archers. What it does is keep your units in a tight pack group (takes a little practice so units attack is spot you want). The units tend to stay in a small area and won't run out of their way and follow units (unless it's a terrible player ^.^).
No attack stance is used for distracting. In CS, we use it a lot on fast speed navy wars (since it's harder on fast speed to micro army + macro eco). Select a ship or two, and patrol them perpendicular between your ships and enemy ships when they are engaged in battle. What it does is encourages enemy boats that aren't being manually microed onto other boats to just attack that ship sailing back and fro (ballistics makes it useless).
Advanced: This is mainly for CS, since more emphasis is on units killed/lost rather than maintaining economy and population.
Patrolling infantry on stand ground then switching to aggressive when the army you want to fight is in sight will help against early "runners" (stray units used to split up and distract your army, rather than attack). Gives you a neater attack, and if you can use runners, that is how you will build up an advantage.

i allways wondered why my enemy's skirs are fighting in a group and mine r
spread all over,lol
now i know the secret and i think now i am on my way to be 2K :P

i wana set patrol on mouse wheel up or can u guyz recomend some more usefull things to
set on mouse whell up/down
cuz mouse wheel is more easy for me to use faster :D
