Noobs of AoC - The Last Battle |
- Noobs of AoC 3 was a huge success so far - all games have been played, no AWs given, many matches streamed, many ggs, participants experiencing good stuff on the battlefields and in the community, improving their play or revitalize their love for AoC. As the organizer, I'd like to thank all of you for this, including the streamers and patrons.
But now, the horns of NAoC shall ring out for a last time. NAoC makes a first step back to team gaming. The last battle of the tournament will star 8 players in a 2v2v2v2 on the map that wins the poll above. Feel free to vote! The civs will be picked: the lowest seeded player picks first, the highest picks last, every already picked civ is locked.
How was this poll created?
- Everyone who streamed a NAoC3 match (. Clemensor, Maiwingkos, SMB360, T90, ZeroEmpires) and every former and current NAoC admin (. Blotch, Philippe le Bon, prv_limb, pumukel) added an option. In order to not influence the outcome, the options are anonymized, but it can be revealed later.
Further settings and rules?
- All other rules and settings are according to NAoC3. Teams locked, no diplomacy.
Who can participate?
- Invited are the participants of NAoC3 and its Spin-off. If more than 8 players are available for the scheduled time, a draft will decide. If less than 8 players are available, NNAOC1 participants are the next to be invited. Since human and technical issues are always possible, I hope for "stand-by participants".
How will the teams be formed?
- Team A: Highest seeded player + lowest seeded player, Team B: Second highest seeded player + second lowest seeded player, etc. - The seeding is as follows:
-4. Rablebok
-3. Maiwingkos
-2. blunder
-1. BradPitt
1. John the Late
2. thepeganator
3. ZaltorTheMerc
4. nimanoe
5. Shut_up
6. Dinnuk
7. Riyuzaki
8. pumukel
9. mavi
10. HyunA
11. FreshFeeling99
12. The_Pharos
13. Blotch
14. CenTriX
15. Agandonn
16. warrior_yoddha
How to sign-up and schedule?
- If you are invited and want to participate, you can state it in this announcement topic you are reading right now. You will then receive a PM with a doodle link, where you can enter the times you prefer to play. Please treat the link as a secret to keep trolls out. NAoC3 streamers will also receive the link, in order to involve them in the scheduling from the beginning.
Is this gonna be messy?
- Yes. The process on the day of truth will be as follows: The participants meet at the scheduled time hh:mm GMT. Until mm+10, technical issues should be solved and missing players replaced. Until mm+15, the definitive player pairs get announced. Until mm+25, the pairs can discuss strategy and set up Skype/Teamspeak, if they prefer to. The actual game should start 30 minutes after the scheduled time at latest.
Miscellaneous
- If the scheduling shows that two or more dates would be fitting, maybe more than one game will take place, it would be great of course, if everybody interested could get to the fun.
- Speaking of fun: this will be the only benefit of participating.
- The poll closes 24 hours before the scheduled time.
- The doodle will aim for a date before 24th Decemer, but maybe it has to be adjusted.
- NAoC3 is first of all for the players. That was the whole reason behind the Freedom of Map Principle. In the same spirit, the admins introduce a veto clause to the poll: If at least 5 of the 8 participants veto against the poll winning map, the 2nd placed map will be played. The veto clause also applies to this new map and so on. If the first 8 maps get deselected, the 9th placed map has to be played no matter what.
