Seriously, this tourney could have been really cool, if record games would have been uploaded.
I think many of the games were played with match stats, so rev games are available on voobly. Plus this qualifier was amazing niliHype

all hail the Lord

Entertainment and e-sport are not completely opposite so we are not restricted to choose only one
AoE is not a game of one map so imo the map pool of NAC1 or NAC2Q1 is very good, some competive maps have entertainment, some entertaining maps have competition too
But the Q2 one I personally feel it contains a little bit too many “weird” maps

the question is, u wanna see entertainment or e-sport?
That is the question indeed. Do I want to be entertained, or do I want to be bored but at the same time slightly self-satisfied because my interest meets some vague criteria for a pretentious label.

Yes, if I was a player, I probably would like it to be more like a sport. But I'm not. Tbh I would like them to make actual sports more entertaining, too. It's about time they introduce randomly exploding balls and water hurdles into baseball. Maybe different maps, too: sometimes team islands or archipelago instead of same boring flat grass all the time.

I think NAC 1 and 2 and the qualifiers made for entertaining e-sports. Maps were in almost all cases fair and allowed for a variety of strategies, and hence gave us entertaining and competitive games testing players skills on many levels - I feel it can’t get much better than that

only thing i disagree is that maps are fairs, u won´t find maps like gold rush, golden hill, or basically maps with gold in center that are fair at all, most of the cases thoses maps are unfair and tricky, since sometimes 1 player get the gold as close to his base like the standard resources and other player has to walk half of the map, (just a example).

Everything else, great, looking fwd for the event and meeting all people in real life.

Was anyone stopping you from doing so?
For me a professional tournament should always care about how to upload the recorded games.
It's the organizers's job to make sure recorded games will be uploaded: Either by themselves, or FIND someone to do the job.
Was there an open position request to upload the recs? Not really.
So what was Nili's standpoint about the recorded games? I quoute:
You do not have to upload the recs, but it's appreciated if set rated games in Voobly as "Match stats".
This is in my eyes very unambitious and for me ruined the whole tournament experience.
Also when I asked Nili, what about the recs, his answer: "No, no recs".
I think this is a very ignorant behavior.

To quote Robo's post on your profile.
If someone wants to upload the recs for the "good" of the community, go do it. Don't expect someone else to do the work for you when you don't do anything for the community yourself.
Would I have liked the Recs to be uploaded here? Sure. I think it's nice to keep a record of Tourneys here for looking up past tourneys and to have a lot of Recs available for new players to learn from

Do I understand why Nili didn't upload the Recs? Of course. It's super tedious, involves a lot of clicking stuff around and the only Feedback you usually get is people complaining that the forums get spammed with recs no one watches anyway.

What I still don't get is why you don't post the Recs here if it is so important to you. Multiple people have posted recs from the Qualifiers here, yet all I see you do is waste your time bitching about the recs not being uploaded instead of using that same time to search and upload them yourself.

Not inviting our Lord and Saviour was merely a brilliant tactic to generate more hype and views for the qualifiers. No DauT about him qualifying . Nili mastermind 2018

Because maybe I don't want to now the result? That's why.
The fun of watching recs is the constant excitement what the final result will be.
If you go to match stats you will instantly now the results, just be the list view.
