The Foreigners Castle
by Thomas
July 27, 1229
Passed down to you by Louis, prince of France.
It was a dreary day when we first sighted it: that monstrosity of a cathedral. protected by a fence of iron, with spikes as tall as a man. The buildings walls as bland as any other, but different from the rest of the village. We did not know if it was always there; The locals were very secretive, making the sign of the cross with their fingers when we came near, whispering to each other in their incomprehensible language. Muttering and old wives tales, we thought it had been..
It became that we were stationed here, to look for signs of treasure and traitors, to hold the land and hopefully make us stronger. The holdings of the empire were mighty, but we would be discontent. So it was that we saught to improve our standing, our wealth, our power. and then we were stationed in a backwater foreign village. In France, but not even French speaking.

One month were we to be stationed here.
On the second day, at noon, a pretend drunk had came upon the prince and started yelling and snorting and all sorts of detestable things. He had rags for clothes, fur covering his body instead of hair, snares for feet, claws for nails, but gold for teeth. He yelled and shouted, cursing france and all peoples. He was brought to the prince to decide what to do. And then, it was seen by the prince himself, that the stars were reflected in his eyes. It was a great mystery, and so he called for the men. But when they came, so that they could see this spectale, he was gone. There was no open window, no open door, no way away from the prince. But he had disappeared.
