Dear gamers,
I'm Hezron. I am new to the AoC community but I hope to become familiar with you all soon. I love video games! Especially RTS! And I love esports and competitve side of games. Almost more in the sense of spectating and seeing just such high skill level compete than myself getting into it, although I enjoy that as well. Age of Empires is a game I grew up with, but as most kids were at that age, didn't really get it. I named all my units, custom games would last days and the such you know what I mean. But my life has been filled with AoE and other classic RTS. I recently discovered that there was an active community of AoC players online after we found our disc for it and started playing with some friends. I was of course very interested. I realize that I'm not that great at AoC considering my friends and how much time they had spent playing it in their lives compared to mine and then compare his skill level to all of yours i could tell I'm way noob at AoC. Nonetheless I was still excited for this community and glad to see that there is still an active competitive scene for it.
That being said I am very interested in sparking and spurring on the scene for competition. I was told setting up tournaments here is a large task and I'm willing to take it on and would of course love help from whoever offered. The really debbie downer was that I don't really have a lot to offer in the place of prizes for winning anything I would want to set up, but that isn't going to stop me from trying and I hope that won't stop you from participating whether you see it as practice for the big tourney's coming up or as practice to just get better or if you just love the thrill of skill vs skill and crushing the competition.
As of now I am looking into setting up a clan tournament. If you've heard of team tournaments(such as Team Arena Challenge or GSTL in Star Craft 2) then i would love to know if you're interested. If you haven't and it sounds interesting I would be more than happy to expound on the format. Let me know what you think about everything so far, I want to hear from all of you. Thanks, and I am so excited and glad to be able to start being apart of the AoC community I've missed out on for years.
