Hi all. i am looking at purchasing a mechanical keyboard .Primarily for AOC .
Could anyone please advise on which cherry mx key colour would be best . cheers
If you are going to buy it ''for aoc" you are wasting your money because it wont make you any better. My 5 usd old keyboard do exactly the same job of a 150/200 one.
for me getting a mechanical keyboard is all about confort, the difference between them are huge, but thats all I guess. After using it for two weeks you cant type again in a normal kb, 11.
^+1, it's just night and day. Forget getting it for AoC, just buy it as a favour to yourself 11. (I'm sure most of us type at least a few hours a day)
Since this is your first mechanical keyboard, before you go spend $100/$200, try some different colours to see what you personally like. You'll more than likely end up with browns or reds though as they are the most popular.
After a bit of research and looking about for a good deal . I like the look of a turtle beach impact 700 cherry MX Brown at cost of $125 US .

It has the full size 108 keys and same layout as my current $2 keyboard .
I tried a mechanical keyboard and tbh it's a waste. I prefer my standard keyboard but for some people it works so if it works for you then it's all down to personal preference.
I think mouses like Razer Naga improve game play alot more for me.
I think that model only has 6 key rollover. You probably want n-key rollover. Basically if you hold down two keys at the same time it'll look like:
ghghghghghghghghghghghgh
instead of:
ghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
For aoc it doesn't matter. For some games like sc2 you need n-key rollover.
It's practically impossible to buy a keyboard without using it first. The reviews never do them justice. Browns are the safest bet. I did notice I went from about 1525 to 1575 in one day when I switched to a mechanical keyboard. It was so much easier to spam CA from ranges.
If you want something simple and solid filco is it. Das used to be similar, but they moved production to china from taiwan, and then complaints of them feeling worse started to come up. If you want something cheap/solid quickfire storm is the go to for a lot of people. I have that with brown switches and doubleshot abs keycaps. The original keycaps are horrible.
Well i just ordered a turtle beach impact 500 with cherry blues . Its a tenkeyless board , i went into our local gaming store and tested the board, a few taps and it felt nice . bought it online though was much cheaper about $85 US , cheers to the store though for the demo . Just waiting for it to arrive now .
