Game of the tournament?
My nomination would be RiuT & DauT (vs) BacT & Slam - Game 1 - a very long game and one of the most unpredictable in recent memory. A classic game candidate?

Post other suggestions for the best games of the tournament below. I will try to assemble a pack of the best games.
The anti-sling mod
The Masters of Arabia 2v2 mod was the product of a constructive discussion about how best to tackle slinging prior to the tournament starting. The mod increases the base tax on tribute from 30% to 50% and moves both coinage and banking to the imperial age. As a result, there was only one instance of a full sling strategy being employed during the entire tournament - MetalRTS managed to sling StefanHD to victory against two VN players with 25 vils, no TC and 50% tax, which was more of a testament to Stefan's skills in that game. Overall, this mod successfully stamped out slinging as a tactic (2v2 Arabia also has something to do with it, where slinging is less common than in 3v3/4v4 and on some other maps), indicating that perhaps past tournaments such as War Is Coming could have been very different if mods such as WiC mod had been more ambitious in tackling sling. The mod for the upcoming 2v2 Arena tournament Gladiators of the Arena looks set to employ the same principles as the Masters of Arabia 2v2 mod, with even harsher penalties to base tax due to the comparative ease of slinging on a map like Arena.
Civ settings:
Whilst some critics argued that the random + switch settings for games 1 and 2 of all matches wasted those games as probable 'civ wins', this tournament provided compelling evidence that in a setting like 2v2 Arabia individual decision-making, skill and teamwork remain the overriding factors. See, for example, Koreans and Teutons winning both times against Aztecs and Mayans in Nicov & Miguel (vs) F1Re & Dogao .
