Game 1: Lucky777 vs HIVI
Your dark age is very poor in performance. You need more control and diligence, most of the things you did were aimless and careless. You also seem to make things up as you go along. Judging from this game your style is unorthodox. Your walling was not as thoughtful as it should have been. This game was way to easy for you.Your opponent was no challenge at all. I would like to see your smush vs someone challenging. Your imperial time was good, however you have to much food and not enough gold...aztec don't need to much food except to upgrade..its better to exact your gains then have to much. This game you played defensively, booming to imperial. You should have taken some vills off farms and placed them evenly on wood and gold on a gradual basis until things were more balanced. Having 1400 food and 100+ wood and gold is bad in imperial age. You could have traded that food though. Your other gold mines were not even on your mind. You should of taken 5-6 vills off farms and built a gold mine.
Your strategy was based on stealing a boar; and because of the micro required, you were found lacking. This is where macro comes into play... which means you micro but your also taking good care of how you expand your economy. Basically macro is how you work the entire system. Micro is how well you handle smaller parts of that system. Since you decided to steal a boar that requires a significant amount of micro. If you enjoy stealing boars then diligently practice it, until you do it with ease. Since you did not steal the boar with ease, your economy became uncoordinated early on. Dark age is a crucial age..you need a good amount of focus, especially if you lack experience.
Tip 1... You should have scouted your base until 2-2:30. So that you would have been more careful with where you place your lumber camp; and would have discovered more sheep.
Tip 2... If your doing a defensive smush at least have your based walled before minute 10. You should begin walling at minute 6 or 7. I wish your opponent would have flushed or drushed so I could see your resistance against it. You should also learn how to wall so things are at your advantage on your map. You happened to wall and give your enemy a helping hand at the same time.
Tip 3.. Learn how to exact your economy for certain upgrades and to make proper shifts with villagers to help balance things out.. or you could just use your market and trade, but do it cautiously.
You did not scout long enough to discover this wood though. Tip 1!
How you should have walled.
