The past tournaments have set a trend (which I have to admit I personally dislike as a viewer) of having tournaments jam-packed into one (or two in one case) weekend(s). Some of these were played live, while some were casted as recorded games. In the past, big tournaments used to take months, which made it difficult to keep up and the hype was lost more often than not. I would say that either of the two is a bit too extreme and we should find a middle ground so that the hype doesn't die and it's also easier to follow the tournament. I would also say that finals should be played on a separate day. Games are more enjoyable as a viewer when you are fresh. I believe this is also evidenced from the fact that the second semifinal for HC4 had a higher peak viewer count than the finals.
For live games, players should have a say in what time they want to play. They should mutually find a time that is most comfortable for them and also fair for the viewers. AoE2 is a show business, but let's have some consideration for the ones putting on the show!
How do you feel about this as a viewer/player? Like it/hate it/don't care for it? What changes would you like to see, if any?
