First of all Hi everybody I'm new to the forums and I've been playing aoe 2 DE for a couple months now.
I started setting my hotkeys as soon as I started playing and made some researchs here and there to find a good starting point for a left handed player like me.
In the end I nocited everyone always focused on the left side of the keyoboard but never on the right;
But maybe there are more people like me who feel really uncomfortable and weird at pressing the left CTRL and SHIFT with my right hand repeadetly during a game for example.
So I thought I'd share with you the full right sided hotkeys setup I'm using.
Premises:
This is literally a mess, but i't not that hard to undestand and all the buttons are close to each other.
This is something I came up with, so I'm aware that if it works for me it doesn't mean it will work as well for others.
Most of the hotkeys are on the numpad and I will refer to them as Nx (1-9)
I'm using a Razer Naga mouse Left handed edition, so I can use all the normal numbers directly from my mouse; this is not fundamental thou as the most important keys are all bind to the numpad and also the this specific mouse has been out of stock for years.
So let's start:
Economic buildings - N0
Palisade wall - N.
House - N0
Farm - N1
Blacksmith - N2
Town Center - N3
Lumber Camp - N4
Mill - N5
Market - N6
Mining Camp - N7
Monastery - N8
University - N9
Military buildings -N.
Stone wall - N.
Towers - N0
Barracks - N1
Archery Range - N2
Castle - N3
Stable - N4
Siege Workshop - N5
Outpost - N6
Palisade gate - N7
Stone gate - N8
Dock - N9
Go to Hotkeys:
Idle villager - extra mouse button 1
Town center - extra mouse button 2
Lumber camp - Left arrow
Mill - Up arrow
Mining camp - Down arrow
Blacksmith - Right arrow
Market - End
Monastery - CTRL + N1
University - CTRL + N2
Barracks - CTRL + Up arrow
Archery range - CTRL + Down arrow
Stable - CTRL + Left arrow
Siege workshop - CTRL + Right arrow
Castle - CTRL + N0
Dock - CTRL + End
I have more hotkeys that I will gladly share if someone is interested in knowing more.
