then, I am amazedHe doesn't have TGs played, he just played his way up...
why is that series the first one? I might not be able to reach it!

his rating is really impressive, but I was wondering if it all came from the TG trick.
aka: Sky_and_Peace / HerG / the_熊Honestly, the first time I ever heard of him, hopefully this is the start of a good pro career for him. Lets go Taiwan!
What about AJ/Ruben then?Guys Sitaux vs Modri not an upset either way. They are #30 and #34.
Atleast 10-15 seeding difference it what Iconsider as an upset.
Till far 2 casualities.
Fire and Laaan.
Masters of Arabia was what, five years ago? While it's a good result it's entirely irrelevant to today's shape I'd say.Really? I don't know sobek a lot but I consider Vinchester is on his top level and I have always considered him an Arabia specialist, since he finished second in Masters of Arabia behind Mr Yo and also consistently taking games from TatoH..
Why do you assume such things, if they are very easy to check? That's poor form in my opinion, implying that players tricked their rating without even trying to verify.
I would consider #32 loosing to #33 a "technical upset" but not really a relevant one.Anyway, the definition of upset differs per person, so I guess it's just easiest to look at it as the lower seed winning, even if seed 33 wins against seed 32.
what about the King of the huns, then when he won to tatoh?Masters of Arabia was what, five years ago? While it's a good result it's entirely irrelevant to today's shape I'd say.
I feel like Vinchester's style suits him more in closed maps. He should be favorite against Sobek but Sobek is really solid and it could be a close one. Think chart vs F1Re - on a BO3, anyone can win.
It was the Arabia Invitational in 2016, so ~4 years agoMasters of Arabia was what, five years ago?
Totally agree, I think it's just easier to talk about technical upsets in this case as everyones understanding of it is the same. For example some people might think Sitaux winning against Modri is an upset, while others might think the opposite and you might not consider any of them winning an upset. If we're talking about technical upsets as you call it, everyone knows that Sitaux winning against Modri is called an upset, even if they think he has a bigger chance to win.I would consider #32 loosing to #33 a "technical upset" but not really a relevant one.
One could be tempted to define a frame from which a "real" upset could be called (ie. seed 43 defeating seed 20?) but you have to take into account that skill is not evenly distributed among all seeds. Top 5 is one level, top 10 is one step behind, top 15 maybe another and the lower you get the more mix you have and everyont could take a game to each other. In addition, you are mixing young new players with old legends, with different learning curves and anything could happen.
So... let's have everyone define what an upset is. For me, it would be when the result is a complete unexpected surprise, biggest so far being Laaaan's elimination
He played BOA this year, with very solid performance all the way, cloud throws their last game.Honestly, the first time I ever heard of him, hopefully this is the start of a good pro career for him. Lets go Taiwan!
Yes, CL did play lots of TGs, in fact he stayed on voobly China only for playing random TGs with his friends.then, I am amazed

After the shxt bucket incident Jibatong go to work and not full time playing AOE, also slam is very solid on arabia, so probably no upset in this one. He's a teenager if I'm not mistaken so definitely a talent to follow in the coming years.
Today I think we won't see any upset, but Jibatong is definitely one to watch. On a BO3 on Arabia Vinchester should also be very wary of Sobek, anything can happen and he doesn't have arena/hideout as home map here...
Well, mate, I understand your logic, BUTWhile you are right, I just don't have the time + energy to check all aoe players, so I run on assumptions as everyone does (About this, I recoment the book Thinking, fast & slow from Nobel Prize Daniel Kahneman)
Chinese players play TGs often and it's an easy way to boost your elo and at least avoid playing 20+ games in the 1v1 ladder against people not your level (which is a good thing, btw, I like the TG so-called trick, altoght there should be less discrepancy between both ladders for it to work as intended). In addition, I didn't think it was possible to make such a comeback in one month: see Heartt, Capoch, Jordan... So it's a natural thing to assume something happend and that he might be somehow overrated.
I don't think assumptions are bad per-se as long as no decisions are taken from them and the one who made them is humble enough to acknowledge the correction.
Maybe all this come from calling it a trick, as if it were something bad
Day 3 ends with zero upsets.
For Day4 I'd expect many potential upsets.
Lyx, Bruh, vodka, riut and zuppi are the lower seed players who may end up winning.
As others said, Daniel has higher seeding. Was Jordan losing to Daniel not considered an upset?
This was quite accurate in the end!Day 3 ends with zero upsets.

yeah stark was not very consistent on arabia, lyx, riut and zuppi are all proven arabia players (past top 16), not hard to make such guess tbh...This was quite accurate in the end!
