Hi, people.
Im willing to know what you think.
I feel the game is becomming too professionalized and the E-sport component is overtaking a great part of it all.
Star Craft II was the same. In the beginning people played for fun only. Later all was about strict build orders, training, being a micro nerd and tournaments. At some point , people just watched a small group of pros, yes, justwatched and played it LESS and LESS. Here in AOE2, the game I love most and the game I play since the release of AoC /with some pauses ofc. / - I see the same trend. So, is it Esport trends only or is it just people are too crazy about strict builds and microing > ?
I firmly believe the best 1v1 is always the one lasting above 40 mins . Some might disagree, but we are not in N. Korea, right ?
What I mean is it is strange when the game is played better by less people. I have 2friends who useed to be top 1200 in 1v1 during the first months after release, they did love the game and were OK at playing 1v1. They just s topped playing at some point. Too much real life they said.
*p.s. Im not saying it is a bad thing to see a higher % of semi pro or very pro gamers, justdiscussing what happens these days. Since I know S.C. II became a too elitist game which was played by few players, not by the whole world like in the past.
