Ideas for APAC: Arena Players Association Championship

what is with the 19 - 2k Arena players like me , scogo, Wakko, Kugel , chaos etc. Are we already out before it started?

prefer a TG Tournament with no sling allowed though.

For 2v2 3v3 we would need good money prize to attract the non arena players. Kinda like gladiator of arena like 1k2$ prize, aM tyrant vns .. took part

I think it’s a bit sad that they only play with big money , i mean they don’t get any money by playing rated games and they still do it all the time but for a tournament they now need 2000 prize

They never play arena tg rated game or once a year they accept to play a 2v2 with me and someone, so it make sense to me they won’t join a tournament on a map they don’t play in rated game, unless some money or competition.

For TG tournament, you need
1) to wait after BoA (otherwise there will be like 4 - 5 good teams for 2v2, 2-3 teams for 3v3) and then hope there will be big enough time window between BoA and another major tournament and that BoA players will be motivated to play after BoA another tg tournament with way bigger tourneys incoming.
2) Get prizepool of 1k+, likely more to attract other top players.
Even then, it's very random if there would be interest and we will get good number of top teams as in Gladiators.
I'm not against open signups, for me if the tournament isn't open signup the winner isn't true champion, because he didn't fight for the title vs all, just vs couple of invited players. However, my idea of this tournament wasn't MoA6, idea is a clown event where A) arina Legends can provide better games than MoA, B) get some interest for the map with new players trying the map, C) try new format for future arena tournaments, D) fight for the Arina King title, because each of us thinks he's currently the best.
The idea behind 8 players is that it would be the most simple, short, with the easiest scheduling and every single matchup will be interesting, important and with small percentage of 1-sided matchups.
I don't really see other top players being added as an option, because I don't think there will be enough interest for it from 2k2+ players. I understand why 18-2k arena players wanna play, and it shouldn't be a problem to get there another 8 players, but then
- tournament will be longer
- early matches will be 1-sided
- if we use something like swiss system with 16 players to reduce it into 8 players, then 8 advancing should be the 8 Legends.
In that case I'd say make it single elimination till swiss stage with 8 players, 18 - 2k arena players will have chance to participate, but no 5 week swiss format or 3 week group format till we reduce 16 to 8 players.

Full agree. Only addition I would make is the league format - I think that would work well as well, having top eight fight for „Arina Clown“ title, next eight for „Arina Sidekick“, next eight for „Arina talent“

Haha @league idea. Like multiple groups of X players, only have to worry about scheduling/playing/winning their group, but after each tourney, best move up to better league, worst move down, and the next tourney they start in those leagues.

Like football 11 idk if possible with aoe, if player have interrest, or won’t be too long, and won’t quit

I am not quite sure if a 1v1 tournament is the best decision right now (after having been through MoA just recently). A team tournament might be more enjoyable. I don't like the league format and really think the Swiss System is awesome! (just to give an opinion from a viewer who's addicted to AoE 11)

I messaged quite a few Arena Players, so far it seems that the preferred setting for the next Arena Tournament is 3v3.

Then that is not the tournament I want to host. You have BoA now, and Im pretty sure it's not the last Tournament were going to see this year.

- time: i dont care but should be after boa
- Duration: / few weeks
- Signups: Open Signup
- Number of Players: 24-36
- Seeding (probably a tough one): not needed if you make a league ( highest 12 get into gold league , next into silver, next into bronze or whatever)
- Tournament Mode: gold / silver /bronze league and everyone has to play everyone ( 2 match each week , every league (8-12 players depending on rating and sign ups) or maybe make it like 6 weeks for all matches etc. can be discussed. so the true king can be declared.
- Wall HP: idc (dont think trush is op)
- Streaming&Spectating: Official Streamers

Completely agreed! I'd vote for an open tournament that could be sorted into leagues henceforth instead of an invitational/top 8 swiss.
