I've been playing with a friend recently, and he constantly beat me with the same civilization. We are both roughly of the same strength, and our scores are quite equals for the first 10 minutes.
Goth have a -35% cost on infantry. That allows him to produce at least 35% more men then me in the beginning, and he will always end up massing a much more bigger army than me in the beginning and win our first encounter, then rush to my town center and destroy my economy. He then continue the pressure until he wins.
Since infantry is the first unit available, and the easiest to produce, I don't have the time to mass produce a counter (archers), before he reaches me. the 35% bonus really allows him to get his army kickier than me, and beat me in the feudal age. not to mention their 20% Barack speed bonus.
How can I beat someone that, in early age, has a bonus equivalent to : you get 35% more troop, 35% faster?
No matter what I do, he will always have more troop than me, mathematically speaking, I can't produce anything faster than him.
This goth bonus is by far the easiest bonus to use, requires no skill, and unless we are speaking about expert player, doesn't seem to have a counter for an average player.
Any tips?
