1.There are tournaments between players on the same maps on the same settings every few weeks apart. There is already community knowledge about which player is better. So what is the point?
2.The same-ey recs of games with the same settings are posted all the time.
3.Streamers only care about expert players and teams.
Now; I think its because the OP thinks there is much more to explore and no one is doing it. And is obviously frustrated
I see what you're saying but I like to remain optimistic about how it is. The streams and highlights of these players make me want to get better. I learn from watching and also try to figure out things I can do better. If it weren't for the hype, aoc would feel kind of dead imo.
When people are angry that's what tends to happen. He has some points but you have got to remember people are doing there best to keep this machine oiled and ticking along. He should have waited till he was in a calmer mood before giving it both barrels as i'm sure he will wish he had done so. Be happy people like Taff, Katsuni, Chris and all the others are keeping this game interesting and exciting with all the hard work they do for the rest of us to benefit from.
I'm actually very happy to see many good players streaming matches, and commentating while they play - that takes a lot of skill to engage with Twitch watchers and stay focused in a game. I honestly didn't even decide to start playing the game again until I encountered Membrillo's stream. He also even told me all the great things that have changed with AOC since 2007-08. I'm for all this publicity on higher players too. Usually to get better at something, you need to have an incentive. It's a good approach, but I do understand where the OP is coming from.
