That's if they go for siege. But Mongols using mangudai die to Goths using huskarl.
Obviously, in BF, or michi for that matter, siege will win out in gap warfare. In later imperial, siege onagers destroy mangudai big time. Especially if you are Celts or Koreans.
I have won as Mongols against Goths by going for fast siege onagers and taking out masses of infantry. I have also won by breaking down the front door and slaying with knights. But I have also lost as Mongols when I went mangudai to be "powerful" and the Goth came from the other side of the map to do huskarls at me, driving me back before I could react.
Generally speaking, siege onager civs > non-siege onager civs on BF. That's the nature of the map. But some civilizations without siege onagers, such as Goths, Persians, and Turks, can really tear up the field. And Aztecs may get siege onager, but they run out of steam pretty quickly.
Koreans are probably my favorite BF civ, followed by Teutons and Mongols. I love siege onagers and I love bombard towers.
I had a question on their accuracy.
Conqs are considered cav archers, right?Does thumb ring affect them?
(spanish archers are **** but I think they get thumb ring, not sure :|
I vote for something crazy, pick Jap, make 10 trebs, onagers, mass skirmish and halbs Use trebs to kill units.
