Greetings fellow AoE community.
I am ChosenWolf_ (cwolf for short), a 30-year old Portuguese born in France.
My first experience with AoE2 was when I was 5 years old, and after an afternoon playing football with my neighbours, I went to the house one of them, which was older, and he showed me the William Wallace tutorials.
Then my first experience with AoE2 multiplayer was in 2013/2014 watching TheViper vs JorDan Bo21. It was so incredible that I immediately started playing on Voobly on my computer at the time which was a laptop. I played at 1280x1024 resolution, but then after some months got a new computer and could play at 1920x1080, which was much more enjoyable.
On Voobly I mostly played Huns Wars, but then I also discovered the Goths and became addicted to the Carlos Ferdinand's M@A rush.
Eventually I managed to climb out of the Beginners ladder, but was stomped every time I played in the Intermediate one.
Then I stopped playing for a long time, I don't really know why, but that's life I guess. But I always was watching streams and tried to watch the major events. My favourite one was without a doubt the Escape Champions League, which for me was so fun because I really loved the League format.
Now with DE, I've been playing on and off since it was launched. I had an amazingly fun story. When the first Red Bull Wololo occurred, I signed up to play, even though I was under 1k. I didn't think I would get a stop in the tournament. But I did! And I got matched against Barles in the first round. So, regardless to say I was completely crushed in less than 5 minutes. But I enjoyed it a lot. Perhaps this is somewhat bad because I maybe took the spot of another player, but that's what happened.
I also want to talk about my project, which is a Strategy game that I'm developing. It's called Ars Militaris, and it's first installment is set in the Ancient Rome Era, just like Age of Empires I is. Recently I started streaming the development of the game. So, you can follow the game (and even try it out!) at our website, https://arsmilitaris.com.
I will now also be creating AoE content, that's why this post here. So, feel free to join the stream either at https://www.twitch.tv/chosenwolf_, or https://www.youtube.com/@ArsMilitarisDev.
Today I will be streaming some AoE, trying to regain my status as a top #10000 player. I'm now a Portuguese one-trick, with my a sick Castle Age all-in strategy that I developed. It includes battering down the entire enemy base with Battering Rams. I really enjoy it. The Battering Ram is my favourite unit, for sure.
So, that's it for my introduction. Feel free to tune in and hang out.
