Byung-geon Kang(nickname: iamgrunt) won the champion of Age of Empires III at the WCG 2001 and WCG 2007.
In 2001, Byung-geon Kang teamed up with Jae Back, Lee(Koven) to win the gold medal, and paved the way for South Korea to claim the title of Grand Champion. He was 18 years old at the time, and he became the face of Age of Empire in Korea.
That same year, he won the Asia Pacific Cup and MS organized World Championship in November to become widely known as one of the world's best AOE player. However, in WCG 2002 Korean National Finals, he lost to Seo Young, Ahn(Kimchsarang), which caused him the chance to be the Korean representative.
In 2007, he proves his skills once again by taking the gold medal in AOE, and finally joins the WCG Hall of Fame.
He gives thanks to his parents who understood him concentrating on games rather than studying. He gave up the Korean SATs to join the competition, and won the championship trophy, which he gifted to his parents.
We believe that all of his sacrifices and efforts is what made him the best AOE player in the world.
