So I saw this graph
And you can’t miss how outlying Gurjaras and Bengalis are in terms of win rate. My first reaction was doubt, since they’re so extreme. Then, I’ve also heard Viper say Gurjaras should be nerfed, and, oh boy - then you know a nerf is coming. What’re ur guys ideas on the coming civ changes?
Gurjaras nerf
-Mills have half hp, but cost 75 wood only. (Repairing will be more costly, whereas potentially lost mills can be replaced slightly more easily.) (and can't be placed in tc range)
-Mills can garrison a max of 5 sheep. (Making one mill an easily defendable fort Knox should not be an option. Additionally Gurjara sheep will get a 3 star Beter Leven rating)
-Shoarma rider gets same speed as light cav. (to me the advantages compared to light cavalry are just too good in terms of its cost difference. In early castle age they can quickly overwhelm a crossbow army due to their speed, essentially negating some of the power spike this unit normally has against other civs. Raiding potential is already increased by the ‘dodging’ mechanic, the attack/move speed increase versus light cav effectively acts as a multiplier to this potential.) A lot of players seem to be fine with this unit, defending it's rather weak and easy to respond to. To them I would say, would a fly sitting on your screen when you can't hit it because it's too fast, not annoy you, and at the very least start affecting your gameplay experience?
Bengalis buff
The villager bonus is their only eco bonus relevant before post imp. I’ve compared the bonus (using a villager equivalent) to the celts, to get a visual. The baseline is Mbl playing a game as Burgundians. As you can see during castle age the bonus is quite equal, while in castle age the Bengali bonus is already much better in this particular game (you would need 27 celt vills on wood to break even)
The only part I can think of why they’re so subpar would be the fact their other bonuses are elephant related…and those are just not part of the meta. To add, their unit that replaces their non-existing cav line is castle locked. Obviously the developer’s attempt was to revive dumbo play, but it didn’t happen. Can this civ even be saved??
