Hi guys. I am a noob to AoC. I know that I am about 16 years too late, but I am enjoying the game nonetheless, and remain to be amazed by the activity levels. I am truly honored and excited to play a game of this calibre.
I am not completely RTS illiterate, and have set up my own system of hotkeys and control groups. After a few times practicing in singleplayer and watching high-ranked replays, I have got the basic dark age opening down. I am now working on late feudal and early castle play.
As I am getting ready to move into feudal and castle play, I was wondering if someone could give me a good civ to start with, preferably one whose gameplay can be adapted to use by other civs (i.e. no weird, unique builds) and is not especially dependent on deep knowledge of the game.
(Also, I know this is probably a stupid question, but are armory upgrades worth it?)
Thanks and I hope to join this enriching, lively, and skilled community
