Force Desktop Resolution
Just so everyone is aware, the issue that people have been experiencing with their screen resolution when using the UserPatch on Voobly is unrelated to the patch itself. There are actually 2 issues here. The first is that, by default, Voobly has removed the UserPatch in-game resolution system, so the Force Desktop Resolution hack is required for custom widescreen.
Here are the Standard UP v1.3 resolution settings, which are provided by your graphics driver:
- main menu: http://img198.imageshack.us/img198/5738/aok000x.png
- in-game: http://img836.imageshack.us/img836/5808/qrdq.png
The second issue is related to the way the Voobly software currently handles settings between lobbies. When players setup their game and resolution options in the Medieval Siege lobby, then go to the Tournament lobby for a game, their settings are not carried over, including the Force Desktop Resolution setting, which causes the problems. Voobly is working on a fix for this, as described here, however, I'm guessing the fix is not yet active, "The update is not yet released some time this week."
Hopefully, they'll get these quirks resolved with a little more time. Sorry for the trouble!
The "-" Auto Player Color
On the game setup screen, when your player color is "-" on UP, you will automatically receive the first available color in order (blue, red, green, yellow, etc.). This allows people who don't really care about their color to avoid the trouble of picking a unique one. However, when coop'ing, an actual color must be chosen by the sharing players. The special "-" player color cannot be used for coop.
In this example, I'll get blue and Barbarian will get red:

Here, I'll get red, Horde gets blue (directly chosen), and Barbarian gets green:

Save and Restore
On Standard UP v1.3, there is always a saved game made as "date-time - out of sync save.msz" when a vote panel appears, so there's a fallback in case a vote can't be decided for whatever reason. This oos save file is always the one to restore, even if a Save and Exit is used afterward.
On Voobly, however, this automatic save has been removed, so you must use the Save and Exit system on the vote panel like in v1.0c to get a properly restorable saved game file. It was removed to avoid encouraging players to resign after the auto-save, since resigning could cause issues for ratings.
