Making this an official expansion means that more people will spend more time on it.
Since the personal time of a few people, who worked on this in their free time was one of the most limiting factors, will this mean, that some of the things you said would not (or not soon) be in AoFE could be integrated in the official version? By that I mean especially the Indian building set and the Inca and Indian campaign, of which we only have seen small pieces of.

PS. This is the 3rd (and final) topic under which I post this, so you moderators out there, don't worry, no more.
To the first thought, that's exactly our opinion. Unit mods can always be used from the Steam workshop. It'd be a very wrong decision to replace the looks of any of the original units. Steam Workshop is made for what you seem to want without destroying any original parts. Hidden Path already made this mistake by replacing farms, cliffs and icons, etc. They could just have made it official Steam Workshop content if they were just a little smart. That said, that guy sure got talent and has made many beautiful units remakes.
I do think that some of the AoFE units and buildings could still be of higher quality. Like the Condottiero. For example, his sword just looks way too big when he attacks. Some of the new units also seems to lack a few details, so they are bit simple to look at. Kamayuk, Condottiero. Also, Salvs gate's roofs has a different colour than their walls has, and the flags is not on top the highest point (likely ment to be that way, tho?).

To the second, the Slav gate issue is a known bug and will be fixed. About the new FE units, we will likely be keeping the same models.
Does that apply for AoFE as well?Atm the normal AOE2HD has selection size for 60 units.
They can't make everything optional, hmm? Well, there could be a config file next to the Options menu, but things like 'max amount of units selected' can definitely not fit anywhere in the current UISo they changed it from 40 to 60, okay. I'm annoyed it's not optional. Pick 40 or 60. How hard it be to make it optional? Sometimes it is actually easy to make everybody happy. Simple option. Also, such bad decisions probably scares the old AoEII pro scene away besides other ordinary people that just wants the old style gameplay with the technical advantages that this HD release brings. Just another reason for them not change the old game out, I guess.
