It seems really weird there's no way to report a player from a recording - it encourages people to just report when they lose, as opposed to thinking, "hm, something's not right here", going to the rec to check it out, and then reporting.
Indeed. That assumes that you are able to detect cheating in real time, when often you will need to check the rec to see that they spawned extra villagers or had insta build on.It seems really weird there's no way to report a player from a recording - it encourages people to just report when they lose, as opposed to thinking, "hm, something's not right here", going to the rec to check it out, and then reporting.
I thought that's why we had the glorious censor system.Reporting seems to be only geared at reporting bad behavior in-game or via chat, but not actual cheats.
My friend played in a standard 1v 1 Ranked Game against another player, the opponent somehow able to create Genghis Khan and Siege Onager in Dark Age. This is obviously unfair and ruined the experience of playing the game.
The topic in the AoE official forums that was cross-linked here before was closed due to "name-calling of the cheater" ... :-/

Or maybe Ertug is getting lonely on voobly and wants some company againTbh maybe he's just a good guy using questionable means to convince the community that voobly is better

Proving intentional desynch in isolation is pretty much impossible, unless the guy just announces it like some do.
We unfortunately have to rely on patterns, where if we see a player having a lot of desyncs when being behind, it's assumed that it is intentional. But we don't have ways to report desyncs and we don't have access to other's reports made on someone so finding out patterns is pretty much impossible.
Rather difficult, as it requires a client application runing on the player's computer. On Server side it is almost impossible to tell, who was causing the sync / drop / crash. On Voobly we have experimented with AC measures similar to Punkbuster, with very good detection and only few false positives.can you tell me please how to prove dsynch?
