Does it make sense to garrison infantry inside siege towers to chase down archers as Dravidians?

Suppose that I'm playing as Dravidians (horrible cav) and the enemy is going full xbow play. Considering that dravidians get extra wood on age up and have a decent discount on infantry upgrades, would it be reasonable to garrison longswordsmen (or urumis) on siege towers to chase down after archers?

If not, what else should I do? make my own xbows/eskirms? pike + mangonels (assuming opponent has decent kts)? go elephant archers?

What made me make this post was the Urumis, they deal massive damage to bunched up units (archers!) but they need a way to close the gap (siege tower!) or else they get demolished.

I suppose that they would be great against xbow strategies, but then I lose to Urumi swordsmen spam.

Yeah, siege tower + urumi swordsman can be good. Siege tower + longsword still doesn't work vs xbows coz once the longswords are ungarrisoned, they still move so slowly they are hopeless at dealing big damage. Whereas urumi swordsmen move faster, meaning more hits, and the first hit deals massive damage in a splash radius which is devastating vs bunched up archers.
