There are ~25 Million GamePass users, who can try AoE2 on xbox for free. 1% of that population is about the size of the entire active AoE2 community today.

That's true, but there are 120M+ monthly xbox users, it's just a massive untapped community

I don't think too many, have you ever tried to play aoe on a large screen? most console users play on their restrooms with big screens, this game can't be played like most games, lets say that you can do most basic stuff with the controller but the sight will get tired really easy cause the constant reading of resources, units and many tiny things on screen.

As an experiment it will be fine, but lets not forget that aok was already on ps2 and it didn't succeed.

I think for competitive AoE2 maybe you are right. But most AoE2 players are PvAI or campaigns, and I think campaigns on controller in 4k wouldn't be to bad

I heard the numbers of the new xboxs are terrible and I don't think most of the console players are intersted in such a game. consoles are still master of casual games and aoe to deep/complex
