Re: WT* ideas on voobly lobbies
The annoucement posted is the following:
"We will soon release our new multi-ladder system, it will change things for the majority of Voobly players so we suggest you read this carefully so you can understand what will change for you. It will allow for multiple ladders to be included into a single lounge. Different game types will have their own uses, as I will now explain.
For info on how to still play your favorite maps rated view this page.
Custom Scenario players will now have their scenarios split into genres, meaning the ratings will be able to be more accurate and players will have to play a variety of different game types in order to become the highest overall player. The following is a list of the new ladders, it is recommended that you click on each link and check which ladder has your favourite scenarios.
Custom Scenario Ladders:
Random Map players will also benefit by having the new 1v1 lounge merged back into the main lounge while still keeping the separate 1v1 ladder.
Random Map Ladders:
In addition to this, we hope to include something for AoK players as well. They will be able to have separate ladders for each game type (CS, DM and RM) while still sharing a lounge as they do now. I said we hope to include it as we have not currently added the support for it yet.
The Teams ladders would have to be one of the best additions from this update. They are effectively a ladder for your team (clan), by rating games played only by two teams. If any other players are in the game who are not a member of either team, the game will not rate. The rating will be shared by all team members, so if you join a team who has a high team rating your overall rating will automatically increase with it. To have a game rated on this ladder there must be a minimum of 2 people from each team in the game. No matter how many people are in the game, 2v2, 3v3 or 4v4 - the rating changes will be calculated as if it were a 1v1, as it is one team vs another.
However, team ladders are only available to premium teams, so you will either need to join a team which is a premium team or purchase a team premium account for your current team. To find out of to upgrade your team to a premium team, click here.
Your overall rating is work out by adding together all of your ratings, with 1600 as a base. Subtract 1600 from each rating, add the ratings together and then add 1600 to that and you will have your overall rating. So the more ladders you excel in the better your overall rating will be. Alternatively if you do badly on multiple ladders, your rating would be laughable.
Here are some examples:
1700 + 1800 + 1900 = Overall rating of 2200
1800 + 1400 = Overall rating of 1600
2000 + 2000 + 1500 = Overall rating of 2300
1400 + 1400 + 1400 + 1400 = Overall rating of 800
We realise the system is quite complex so please ask if you are curious about any of the aspects of the system. While we have tested this ourselves, if you find bugs or something which doesn't look right - please tell us as soon as possible so we can get it fixed."

Custom Scenario Ladders:
- CS Old Ladder - The current ratings which will add to your overall rating. These can't be changed and will be removed once new ratings have been established.
- CBA Ladder - Because CBA is by far the most popular scenario played on Voobly, it gets its own dedicated ladder so everyone can know who the undisputed best CBA player is.
- CB Ladder - Every other Castle Blood scenario in the map pack is packed into this ladder. Unfortunately we couldn't make a new ladder for each scenario!
- Bloods Ladder - Every Blood scenario we have is on this ladder and nothing else. The blood community can now know who would be the highest rated player without having CB players being mixed throughout the list.
- Alternative Ladder - For all the scenarios which couldn't fit into a previous category. They needed a home so we gave them one here. From TD to World Map - If it isn't a CB or Blood you will find it here.
- Teams Ladder - Keep reading, I will explain the teams ladders later on.
Random Map players will also benefit by having the new 1v1 lounge merged back into the main lounge while still keeping the separate 1v1 ladder.
Random Map Ladders:
- Random Map General Ladder - The current RM ladder, any RM game can be played on this ladder, including 1v1.
- Random Map 1v1 Ladder - The current RM 1v1 ladder. While the game rooms still let you put 8 people in them, it will only rate on this ladder if the game is a 1v1.
