Happy New Year! To kick it off, we are pleased to mix it up with a very fishy matchup: Team Apple vs. Team Banana! All maps are also 6 vil starts. For the purposes of this 5-game show match,
- Team Apple consists of Tatoh, Mr. Yo, and Miguel
- Team Banana consists of Daut, Viper, and ACCM
Format:
- There is a 7-map pool(see spoiler) for a modified hidden pick, no repeat series
- Game 1 is on the set map, Ghostly Ghoulash
- Each team then bans 1 map from the other 6 maps available in AB Order
- For the purposes of this show match, however, the new map “Shady Fish Market” is not bannable
- Therefore, there are 5 maps remaining for the series
- The teams then do a Delicious 5 civ draft:
- 4 global civ bans in ABBA order
- Teams draft 4 exclusive civs each in A,BB,AA,BB,A order
- For avoidance of doubt, teams are drafting civs that the other team may not pick. They can but do not need to pick these civs themselves.
- Each game then proceeds hidden pick, no repeat, but with the civ restrictions (8 for each team) from the draft.
- The loser of each game picks the next map from the remaining maps
- See recent Delicious show matches for civ drafting examples
Prize Pool:
Each team gets $69 per game won.Map Pool:

Map Descriptions
**Important Note: For Tres Leches and Shady Fish Market, teams need to be split odd/even and only use numbers 1 through 6 in order for team positions to work.Important Note (**): For Tres Leches and Shady Fish Market, teams need to be split odd/even and only use numbers 1 through 6 in order for team positions to work.
Ghostly Ghoulash (set map game 1) – From the creator of flying trade carts comes flying trade cogs. Instead of a scout, players get a flying trade cart in this easy to scout map that is a bit like Atacama in the middle with lion-invested gold in the very center. Fear not, there is also gold in the shallow corners, and the outside lacks predators entirely – you may fish and hunt instead. Finally, outer woods are reeds so a closed feudal will quickly develop into an open castle. Will the teams actually get to fish boom and trade or is this map far too open for such greed?
Shady Fish Market (UNBANNABLE)** – Fish on land and a neutral market to send your flying trade carts to. Flanks will likely fight for goldfish while pockets might journey for turtle rocks in the center. Ultimately, teams will have to choose which flank to prioritize with all neutral golds in the side enclosures. It’s going to be a bumpy ride.
Ball Arena – This arena features no gates in your walls. And 4 lakes. And Arabia like back wood. The cracked center is a dried lake of Goldfish while the desert outside has fewer resources guarded by lion pairs. Delete with caution!
Peace-O-Pizza – This Land Nomad start features 2 vils for each player in each of the 3 pizza slices. One slice has pure food and plenty of it. One slice has box turtles under the stones. And another has the only inner gold but sparser food. Teams will have to coordinate their starting positions as the chop out will take longer than the chaos within.
Seafood Pie – This perennial favorite returns in a format customized for 3v3. You can dock toward the center but not out of it, where you’ll find the extra golds. To get to the middle, there’s a one-tile chop and maybe a lion or two on the other side. Corners contain relics guarded by komodos and will be vital for trade for the team not part of the center.
Tres Leches** – We’ve narrowed the center for this flanks-as-pockets and pocket as flank hybrid map. A steppe start with peaceful trade carts to boot, the waters may be anything but. Oh, and trade carts fly now. Newly made ones too.
Fishcake Fiesta – Some may remember a certain seafood pie and wonder how this map is any different. The answer lies in that everyone’s a flank here – every player is next to 2 enemies! Players start near the 2-tile woodline which contains a ring of gold on the other side. The center contains a swampy stone region where dolphins sing among the reeds and Baobabs. Essentially shoving a burrito into a seafood pie, this is bound to be a real fiesta of a final game.
