The AoE2:DE Deathmatch Community is extremely proud to announce the fifth installment of the annual reunion of all DM players: Deathmatch World Cup 5 with a prize pool of $10,000 ! With DM World Cup 5, we intend to showcase a fast-paced, exciting game mode of AoE2:DE featuring the greatest DM players of the world.

This is a unique event that brings together the entire deathmatch community for several weeks of intense battles.

Last year, TheViper took the crown, making him the three time back-to-back world champion! In last year's grand final, after nine game of intense fights,

TheCode narrowly came up short of the crown.

Every player is invited to participate in this tournament! Take your chance to be the next king of the DM!

Due to the overlap with the T90 leagues during the 2 first weekends of August, we decided to move the main stage of DMWC5 to 2 weekends in September!
Meaning main stage will take place during the weekends 10-11 and 17-18 September with the same format as before.
The main reasons are to ensure a better viewership and ease the schedule for the players that might play both in DMWC5 and the T90 leagues.

This also means the qualifiers will only start next week with brackets posted this Sunday 3rd of July and qualifiers starting the Monday after.
Qualifiers will consist of Round Robin in 16 groups with the 16 winners moving to a decider round before qualifying for the main event!

Sign ups will close this Saturday 2nd of July.

Files, website and everything related to the DMWC5 will be edited this week.

 

Hopefully this gives the GOAT @TheViper more time to register and rightfully defend his crown on the biggest DMWC stage of them all!

The qualifiers for DMWC5 officially started !

We proposed an order in the group chats where you have to play maximum one set per week. As it is vacation time and we had to move the schedule a bit, we will allow flexibility to play matches earlier and later than in the exact week. We just want to prevent people from having to play all matches at the end and run into scheduling conflicts.

How it works ?

80 players has been distributed in 16 groups of 5 players according to their seeding. All players in a group must play against the others (for a total of 4 matches/players). You will find the schedule of your matches and the link for maps/civs draft in the channel of your respective group.

Once all those matches has been played, the best 2 players of each group (32 in total) will advance to the next step : 2 rounds of a single elimination deciders where the best 8 players will access to the main event !
