No one is perfect, but thankfully he's not getting any crap lately.why is memb so perfect?
I thought Katsuni left after he didn't get invited to the Maldives?Lately I've been wondering if stuff like this had an impact in certain figures leaving the community. Like Zak or Katsuni,
Good luck during weekend, take some fun co-casts with you!Return of the Clans 2 is going to dominate this weekend, no doubt about it and then Master of Socotra 2 Domination.
Lets go baby!!!!
someone has to bewhy is memb so perfect?
Memb has already announcd that Battle of Africa will happen (likely around June from what I remember), Jordan has already announced that he will be hosting a 1v1 tournament in April/May.We see it unfolding right i front of us what people have been saying for months.
All the aoe2 players are running after 125k golden league while no big tournaments are planned for aoe2
I wonder what does he know...Dave on stream yesterday basically freaked out when someone mentioned how there's nothing on the calendar for aoe2. And then later said something along the lines of "knowing what I know, there's no big reason to worry". In other words, just be an insider like him 4Head.
This isn't really an issue of prizepool allocation IMOI find it really humorous that people think these two things are the same:
"Golden League is an aoe4 tournament happening from Mar 26-May 22 which features a $125,000 prize pool"
"Battle of Africa is happening this year."

As explained by Nili, the entire point of the tournament calendar is that you can see when big tournaments are during the year. Plenty of other eSports have events on a schedule so that players can plan on which event is whenI dont think that has too much to do with the calendar tbh, hosts are only gonna announce the actual details of tourneys like couple weeks before it happens to hype it up anyway. They arent gonna make an announcement in Easter telling people "Hey there will be an event in Christmas and here are the details!", unless its some sort of well established yearly / seasonal event. Even ECL, a one-year event, was only announced like a month before its qualifiers.
Yes, but it will either remain "TBD" / "TBA" or get revealed couple weeks before the event. That wont really change the current "When is _BLANK_ gonna happen" issue when the hosts dont reveal specific details. As explained by Nili, the entire point of the tournament calendar is that you can see when big tournaments are during the year. Big tournaments in f.e. golf or tennis do not need to resort to such tactics for hype. It is not difficult to announce things far in advance and then "reannounce" them closer to the event (on the timeframe you mention) to start building the immediate excitement for the event. It just comes down to bringing up the "guys this is happening!" level from "wow guys it's really actually a thing!" to "guys this great thing we love is here let's get pumped!" The first is appropriate when a scene is just getting momentum; the second is how you act as a professional. This Hidden Cup would have been Hidden Cup 5 which is more than enough for it be considered established but of course that it is not taking place because of AoE4 says everything about the lack of certainty that does exist. People just had a certain expectation engendered about the AoE2 competitive scene that AoE4 really disrupted.Yes, but it will either remain "TBD" or get revealed couple weeks before the event. Do you have an idea about how these are seen? Also need to consider that YouTube is a massive and important audience that often doesn't get counted. Just because the views weren't live doesn't mean they don't matter
Come on dude, you and I both know it's not even remotely comparable.Memb has already announcd that Battle of Africa will happen (likely around June from what I remember), Jordan has already announced that he will be hosting a 1v1 tournament in April/May.
I'm glad AoE2 players are trying to grab some of that Golden League money. Helps them continue streaming full-time
You can't really compare golf and tennis with AoE though.Big tournaments in f.e. golf or tennis do not need to resort to such tactics for hype. If this trend continues, we will be back to 2017.
If AOE2 doesn't get a 50K+ tournament this year, yeah we can conclusively say that we're back in 2017.We are already back to 2017 level for aoe2, at this rate very realistically we will be at 2010-12 level when 5k tournaments were being celebrated as amazing. One can argue we are there already
So you are using the 2018-2021 prizepools as reference of "aoe2 without the influence of aoe4" 11If AOE2 doesn't get a 50K+ tournament this year, yeah we can conclusively say that we're back in 2017.
By the looks of how MS and the esteemed tournament coordinator is acting, that certainly seem to be the case, unless there will be some massive crowdfunding. Let's see.
I wonder what will be the new excuses from enlightened observers peddling co-existence, increasing pie, aoe4 is actually good for aoe 2 etc
Absolutely. So you are using the 2018-2021 prizepools as reference of "aoe2 without the influence of aoe4" 11
