Hey everyone,
I haven't seen enough games to actually flesh out this theory, and I'm sure BoA will make things clearer, but could Cumans be the strongest pocket civilization in the game right now? (For land maps, that is.)
My thinking is:

My thinking is:
- Cumans are a paladin civ with full upgrades;
- they fit the profile of a civ that's somewhat one-dimensional, and therefore probably stronger in team games than in 1v1s;
- the meta for 3v3s currently seems to favor scout play from the pocket over straight FC. The more delayed the Castle time, the larger the economy lead a Cuman player can build up over its opposing pocket;
- the Cuman movement speed bonus is potentially the best of all paladin bonuses in team games, since it allows the Cuman player to better manoeuvre its army between flanks and more effectively raid trade with paladin;
- the Cuman Mercenaries unique tech (10 free kipchaks for all team members) is potentially great for launching surprise trade raids.
