How about just build palisades and/or houses fwd when you see his tc rush coming instead of looking for more changes?
How is that possible, assuming that enemy allocates his villagers to gathering resources and makes vilagers continuously too? Yes there is obviously the initial loss due to deleting TC and moving vills over the map. But the gain over time will be for the TC rusher.I wouldn't even prioritize going to Feudal. I'd just make sure I'd reach a point where my wood gathering+repair rate >>>dmg to my TC.
In practice I don't think there will be any food resources for the drusher to take. All sheep will be under/near the defender's TC, or next to a mill for safety's sake (from enemy TC fire). Deer/boar are very map dependant. To take a boar the drusher needs to have many vills available - he won't as most will be garrisoned. And deer can be sniped(only takes 2 shots) just to have the food rot if the drusher got lucky and has them on his side where he is putting up the TC. And doesn't he "lose" garrisoned vills to be able to fire TC arrows? How is that possible, assuming that enemy allocates his villagers to gathering resources and makes vilagers continuously too? Wood is always prioritized in Dark Age, so I'm confident that the defender will have a lumber camp in place. Following any basic BO will have 6 on sheep and 3-4 on wood, so by the time the enemy walks/builds the TC, for the defender to maintain a constant flow of wood (to repair TC + build houses) and food (to maintain vill production) seems very viable to me. Unlike the drusher who will struggle greatly UNLESS THE DEFENDER PANICKS.
Ok, thanks for clarifying.
But I still think that I can still run my eco and beat the drusher. He'll have wasted so much time and will have 10 vills stuck in his TC - how will he be gathering resources and keeping up with my vill production? Not to mention that by the time he walks up to me+puts up the TC, I'll be ahead in vill pop and easily have the numbers to both repair and gather resources.
Disclosure: this hasn't happened to me in a game, so if anyone has real game experience plz share.
I'd still not worry much about going to Feudal. The drusher sure as hell isn't going "up", so like I said: for the defender to maintain a constant flow of wood (to repair TC + build houses) and food (to maintain vill production) seems very viable to me.
I saw jordan killing 19+ with militias only, maybe that strategy should be discussed next :D
Srsly this tc rush can be even denied by building a house 111
hes been killed by douche several times, every time he plays with lb10
I saw this tactic in action just yesterday.
I was spectating a 4v4 GA game. One guy who was Persian did the exact same thing. First he went to 20 pop or something. Then he sent like 8 villagers near enemy base, deleted his TC constructed a new one. For a moment i thought WTF he is doing. Then after a while, this guy is a genius. So 12 villagers was in his original base, gathering wood. Here the 8 villagers were attacking enemy TC. In order to defend himself the enemy had 10 vills garrsioned and attacking the TC. But persian TC is twice the HP so it was 2400 vs 4800. He was gg as soon as persians ally had knights. This game never ceases to amaze.
I'd imagine this is supposed to be effective in dark age. By the time Persian dude pops 20 + moves across the map, I would think it's too late.I saw this tactic in action just yesterday.
