The Clash of The Titans is well underway as the final qualification stage draws ever closer! For the duration of Round 3 I will be doing some mini interviews with past and current players in the Clash of The Titans, I'll be asking a few questions to each and posting a new interview each day!
Today I spoke to Spaden about his participation in CoT.

ZeroEmpires:
Hey Spaden how's it going?
Spaden:
Everything okay, it's Autumn Break soon!
ZeroEmpires:
So firstly: congratulations on doing so well in CoT! There were some really unexpected results there, did you expect to win games against Nicov and JX_LuShan?
Spaden:
Haha, thanks! Well I certainly did not expect to beat Nicov, but when I did I maybe got a little bit overconfident vs JX_LuShan and thought I would win those games too.
ZeroEmpires:
It was certainly a great surprise to see you take out someone of such high rating and definitely one of the biggest events of the tournament so far. Do you feel as though the tournament environment helped you to play better and did you do a lot of practice before the tournament began?
Spaden:
A little bit of both. I've never really been a 1v1 player, pretty much only playing TGs with friends. But when this tournament came around I started playing 1v1 serious for the first time . The fact that my TG-buddies disappeared from the AoC-scene made it easier for me to practice also since I had nothing else to do. Though I didn't really practice very much (2-4 games a day maybe) if you compare me to other players. Then the fact that it was a serious tournament made me play much better and that was the main reason for my performance, not the practice.
ZeroEmpires:
It's really cool to see players such as yourself do so well in situations like this. Do you think that your 1v1 skills have increased a lot from the experience you have gained? Will you go back to TGs now that the tournament is over?
Spaden:
Yeah, I think my 1v1 skills has increased a lot. Something I notice from the 1v1 practice is that I am faster than I have ever been before. I notice that when playing TG also, so the 1v1 practice has increased my skills overall I think. I will probably keep on playing 1v1 because I think it's fun and really rewarding if you want to improve, though I will probably play more TGs now because I simply enjoy it! Easier to relax, no need to be top shape and speed all the time. If you fail you still have a team that can save you! ^^
ZeroEmpires:
Haha that's very true! Well Spaden thanks for your time, one last question before I go: Round 3 of CoT is in progress, do you think we will see any upsets by the end of the week?
Spaden:
Anytime! Ehmm, about upsets, I think that Lojza might win Tim but apart from that I think pretty much all the games are even and in some of them the most obvious player will win (Viper, Chris, Jordan, etc). I know that a lot of people thinks that Lojza has no chance, but I believe in him!
ZeroEmpires:
Well we will have to wait until Saturday to find out! Good luck in future events and thanks for agreeing to do a mini-interview.
Spaden:
Yeah, we will have to. Thank you and no problem!
