I cannot seem to get 'NormalMouse' to work on AoE2HD? I suppose that it just doesn't work. I just cannot stand the heavy input lag feel when making boxes (no vsync, of course). It's ridicules.
Bump. I just want to be able to use the system cursor instead of the hardware accelerated mouse cursor. It gives better performance. I don't make much sense or? :D
I'm not a pro gamer. Actually, moving the mouse cursor around in AoE2HD is perfectly smooth (at high FPS, at least). That's no 'heavy feel' to it.
Now when making boxes, however. Like for selecting multiple units. What's it called? Drag and drop, I think. Then there's an extremely heavy feel to it. It feels like input lag (delay in response). So I want to use the system (software) cursor because I'm sure it'd fix this issue. 'NormalMouse' is just a command parameter that worked in AoC to use the system cursor. The system cursor is not affected by low FPS in games in the same way as a hardware accelerated cursor is. Not that low FPS is the root of this particular issue in this my case, but it might still fix it. I am actually sure it would fix it, because it's 100% a hardware accelerated issue.
Anyhow, just try to drag and drop on the Windows desktop for a minute. Then just to do the same in AoE2HD. Not close to the same responsiveness. It's crap. AoC does not in anyway have this issue. That's a step backwards, not forward.
