Clash of the Hippo 5 is a 2v2 Tournament hosted by Nili_AoE. During the 11th and 12h of May 8 teams will fight for a $1,300+ prize pool.
All games will start in Feudal Age with Medium resources guaranteeing action packed games. In addition to that stone walls/gates will be delayed to Castle Age and slinging to Imperial Age.

Nili_AoE will be using Capture Age for the entirety of the event.
CaptureAge, created by Dico & SirLaurenceNZ, allows Age of Empires 2 to be broadcast in ways that have never been seen before in Team Games! The CaptureAge team have developed many exciting features to reveal during the event.

There are no restarts for this tournament.

Sling
You are only allowed to give ressources to a team mate after you reached Imperial Age.

Civilizations
Pick civilization without repeating within a series.
For the "Hidden Civilizations" under "Advanced Settings" in the Voobly Game Room Settings menu must be enabled during every game.

Bugged Map & Admin Restarts
A player can request bugged map restarts during the first 3 minutes (game time).
A bugged map is defined as the following for standard resource starts:
Gold: Less than 5 tiles of a main gold cluster are at least accessible on one side, extra gold are excluded.
Stone: Less than 4 tiles of a stone cluster are at least accessible on one side, extra stones are excluded.
Berries: Less than 4 tiles of a berry cluster are at least accessible on one side.
Animals: Spawned with less than the standard resources or the animals being trapped.

Graphical Mods
Any graphic changes that only affects the player's Age of Empires II are allowed.

Cheating
Cheating is not allowed under any circumstances. Players using any kind of cheat will be disqualified from any future Nili-Events.

Respect & Fairplay
Every player must respect their opponent. Bad behavior will result in a warning and may lead to an immediate disqualification of the player. This tournament values not only great skills, but also sportsmanship and fairness. Any insult, non-PC behavior or flaming will not be tolerated. Laming and mind games in game are allowed.
Players are requested to limit the time between games as much as possible to make the experience as smooth for everyone as possible.

No Smurfing
All players have agreed to the no smurf rule.

Stragglers
Players are not allowed to delete the straggler trees which spawn within 10 tiles of an opposing player’s Town Center. This rule does not apply if the straggler treewhich is being deleted forms part of a wall for the defending player. "Laming" of fish is forbidden aswell.
On maps where main forests are exclusively straggler trees it is strictly forbidden to delete straggler trees from opponents (using the "palisade trick") unless they are being used as part of a mid-section of wall.

Player colors
Players have to use the same color in every game of a series.

Coast to Mountain
On the map Coast to mountain you are only allowed to build a barracks, stable or archery range after your TC is finished.

Streaming Policy​

  • All the games will be streamed on http://www.twitch.tv/nili_aoe who is also guaranteeing the prize pool.
  • Every caster/player is allowed to stream
  • 50% of all donations & bits are going into the prize pool (same for Nili_AoE)
  • The relevant time is considered starting with the pre-game show and ends with the after show
  • Every caster should clearly state to his audience that streamers are working together to generate a prize pool (and that 50% of all donations/bits are going into it)
  • The maximum a caster has to pay is $500
  • POV streams have a rate of 20% with a $200 max and a 2 minute stream delay.
  • Spectator Delay in Voobly will be set to 2:30 minutes.
  • Most relevant casters have been informed of this before

I dont think thats really needed since you only start with 130 stone. Yes, you could build one tower with that, but then you wont have enough stone to build a tc forever, so i dont think anyone will do that.

In theory you could build a market straight at the start with 1 vill (preferable with saracens), while you sent 1 vill fwd, buy 100 stone and then tower up the enemy dock once you see it and therefore making it useless to fish. Or you could tower up the mountain side straight at start and deny players from wood, that would be even worse 11

Would be interesting to see whether it is worth it - you are still delaying yourself a lot, so will always be behind in military and villagers, not sure one tower is enough compensation for that

I updated the WK installer with an updated version of the Hippo Mod so it's on 5.8 balance. Let me know if there are any issues. Installer Version is 5.8.1 (e)

Yeah of course, noone enjoyed it. Thats the reason why the Coth4 finals is the video with the 2nd most clicks on Nilis channel, even before NAC2 finals.

Can you start a game with it by yourself?
As a start, you might want to try just reinstalling it
