Turns out the new abilities of Coustilier and Sicilian units that will come out with the new expansion of AoE II DE seem to be old features never used in the game.
We did some experiments on WololoKingdoms DE and this is what we found.
There exists a CHARGE ability that, when activated, multiplies the damage on the first attack by 2. We tested it by giving the ability to the Knight and programing its graphic to the Paladin one. The result is that the Knight moves towards the objective, at 2 tiles becomes a Paladin, and deals 20 damage (twice its attack) upon reaching the enemy, changing back into a Kinght for the attack animation.
There exists a BLOCK ability that, when activated, decreases damage taken by 1/3. We tested it by giving the ability to the Pikeman and programing its graphic to that of the Champion. The result is that, when the Knight attacks the Pikeman, it changes into a champion. Every attack from the Knight deals between 7 and 6 damage, to account for the decimals. After 3 hits, which in practice would mean 30 less HP, the Pikeman has lost 20. That is, it has absorbed 1/3 of the damage.
