To me macromanagement and planning strategies are different things.
Ruit is very good at micro and hes less good at macro because he micro too much in late game which doesnt allow him to do all the macro needed; while Tim is less good in early game because he has worse micro but if he survive the "micro period" he can take advantage due to his beter macro. Macro includes the way you play your map, how you control it etc. Micro is localised in a specific area in the map.
Micro and macro are both how you use your units but in different "proportions" (don't know how to say 11).
And this is of course my opinion.
