I think don't make public sheet and don't ask them fight for spot solve this problemLooks like a good solution for a non-ideal situation.
I think this shows that 1v1 rating on DE isn't the best seeding method, so I hope this opens the conversation on what to use for seeding in future tournaments or how to prevent rating manipulation to happen.
TGMM is fixed, so using it is fine from now on.Looks like a good solution for a non-ideal situation.

dont think thats the best solution, this sheet creates hype and attention. Just using not only 1v1 ladder would help a lot in the future.I think don't make public sheet and don't ask them fight for spot solve this problem
even they can make sheet by themselves i doubt how many teams will do it
I don't think it can ever be fine for serious tournament seeding. Having 4 player FMT with communication and coordination will always give huge benefits to matchmaking games against similar skilled full or semi lone wolve teams. Thus tg elo seeding would be mostly about which teams can bother to milk the system more than others.TGMM is fixed, so using it is fine from now on.

Wasnt it always like this?I don't think it can ever be fine for serious tournament seeding. At the very least its more accurate than using 1v1 elo 11Also, assuming all teams will go full tryhard on the DE TG ladder and will all stack (since that's easiest way to get points), the timezones will make a lot of difference. If you're the best team in the timezone you're playing, you'll be able to gain a lot of points since you'll mostly play against teams worse than you.
I don't think the DE TG ladder will become too accurate, since stacking and when you play will have a big impact. If you want to use it as seeding, it will be more to incentivize players to play on the TG ladder, not for the most accurate seeding.
It was same in voobly too
In DE it's just as easy to find games with FMT than without FMT. In Voobly atleast people could (in most cases) notice if they are opting to play against fmt and refuse joining such games. So not that the problem didn't exist in Voobly times, but I believe teams have easier time milking the system now when people are just thrown into their games.Wasnt it always like this?
And players cant really pick opponents on DE.
Well until about a week ago team game matchmaking was messed up and the ladder was worthless.I fail to see the problem with rewarding team coordination instead of individual skill in a team game MMR. Do you want the tg ladder to look exactly the same as the 1v1 one?
No no no, I'm just saying it's not good way to determinate teams in order for pro tournament. The goal for seeding is just to place teams according to their supposed strength, not to reward from anything. But ladder doesn't have to be put in place just for pro tournaments, it has other values too and there it's totally fine to reward from having an actual formed team.I fail to see the problem with rewarding team coordination instead of individual skill in a team game MMR. I'll be the first to admit that it was a mistake to extend the deadline in the way I decided to do it. It was intended to create healthy competition between the players close to the cut-off, not for teams to sign up the last second. What I should have done is extend the date and time in which we did the seeding, but keep the registration deadline the same.
The addition of potential foul play made things even more complex.
Everything is glaring and clear in that bright light of hindsight.
(a) You can literally pick your opponent freely on vooblyI think another problem (that will fix itself) is that the ladder is still very new.
In the future a weird spike 2-4weeks ahead of a tourney is probably easier to spot.
But if someone only has around 100 games played its tough to see if they already reached their top and then suddenly increased or if they just havent played enough.
Another thing is that matchmaking inflates the ladder more than on voobly because
a) u get matched with lower rated people u wouldnt even consider playing on voobly
b) less smurfing means less elo parked in smurf accounts
Yes that was easier but voobly was also very transparent, u could check all recorded games f.e(a) You can literally pick your opponent freely on voobly
What about "noob"-bashing and point trading......?
