At my level, Goths beat Mayan pretty easy...and in mayan wars, we never go elite plumes and rams (onagers?), but instead spam eagles which all of that.
At pro levels, I like to see consistent strategies 95% of the time which require lots of skill (microing ranged units in like every game :P) since it shows that in AoC there is established strategy and understanding of the game at a high level.
So if mayan still beat goth with 2.4k who cares? Maybe just force players to choose dif civs every game in a set, and it would be more fun and require alternate strats.
In other words, plumes are good to be so powerful :D
