Welcome to the Arabia 1v1 Invitational Prediction Contest Leaderboard. This leaderboard will probably be updated a couple of times per week, but at least once per week after the weekend. The post for the prediction contest itself can be found here.
The top 5 of this event:
Any other questions please feel free to post these below or here if the question is off-topic.
February 20th 2016, 1st update
At this point in time there are 3 leaders, _InDuS_TauruS_, Ator and livrodedaniel. The all gathered 27 points with different predictions.
The maximum amount of points achievable at this point in time is 48 points, with all 16 matches predicted correctly.
The biggest upset this tournament so far, prediction wise, is [TyRanT]RiuT (vs) mentalist . Only 3 points were rewarded. Only 1 player gained points that match, Rey_Fer. Rey_Fer was not only the only one that believed he could win, but Rey_Fer also predicted the correct score!
February 25th 2016, 2nd update
At this point in time there are 4 leaders, _InDuS_TauruS_, Ator, (_blank) Chessfreak_ and livrodedaniel. They all gathered 33 points with different predictions.
The maximum amount of points achievable at this point in time is 72 points, with all 24 matches predicted correctly.
On average the leaders only gathered 1.4 points per match. The average amount of points earned per match is 63.1 points, this is only 1.07 points per participant per match. This shows us how difficult it has been to correctly predict the outcome for the matches.
There was another big upset in the tournament. The biggest so far, prediction wise, is Whoop (vs) Lojza (czech). Not a single point was rewarded, so this will also stay to biggest upset in the tournament, but might be joined by other matches!
March 2nd 2016, 3rd update
Popemi has risen through the ranks to be on top of the table at the moment of the 3rd update. He has gathered 42 points from 30 matches. The maximum amount of points achievable at this point in time is 90 points, with all 30 matches predicted correctly.
Popemi also has the highest amount of correct match predictions at this point. He has scored 3 points in 10 matches total, for a total of 30 of his 41 points.
There was another big upset in the tournament. Which is mentalist (vs) slam . Only 1 point was rewarded to Lews_Therin.
March 4th 2016, 4th update
Another update, another leader. This time it is Interdimension, he gathered 47 points from a possible 105 points. At this point in time 35 matches have been played.
With a lot of games still to be played, we are suspecting lots more changes in the leaderboard. Including the difficulty in predicting the matches, anything at this point can still happen!
It wouldn't surprise me if we had another leader with the next update.
March 8th 2016, 5th update
Interdimension was able to hold on to the top position after a couple of days filled with games since the last update. He gathered 57 points from a possible 123 points. At this point in time 41 matches have been played.
The runner-up at this point, (czech) Janik, has made the most correct prediction. Of the 41 matches that were played up until this point, he correctly predicted the score and winner of 14 of these matches. He correctly predicted 34% of the matches. If he keeps this up, Interdimension will have a hard time to keep the first place his.
Since we are nearing the end of the group stage, it is possible we will see admin decisions in some matches. Any admin decision on match outcomes will leave the predictions made voided.
Please note that after the group stage new matches will be posted every week to complete this tournament. With "only" 15 points between the number 1 and 41 in the leaderboard, I am quite sure that anything can happen.
March 11th 2016, 6th update
Last update I said anything was still possible. Now with only 2 matches played since the last update, we can see some changes in the leaderboard. For example the high risers this update are CondoM, (_blank) Convict, (_blank) hightower, Shmolagin, Skibari, (czech) Skull_cz and smarthy_, who gained the maximum 6 points from the 2 played matches.
The top 2, Interdimension and (czech) Janik respectively, hasn't changed since the last update, but the gap between them got bigger by a point. Meanwhile pedro and Popemi gained a place to complete the top 3.
There are just 5 matches left from the group stage. Again, any admin decision on match outcomes will leave the predictions made voided.
March 16th 2016, 7th update
Interdimension is still holding on tight to the 1st place, extending his lead from 2 to 3 points. This lead is not on (czech) Janik anymore, but on AgnisAls. AgnisAls went from 11th place to being the runner-up in the final update of the Group Stage. Interdimension gathered 67 points from a possible 138 points, with all 46 matches predicted correctly.
Now that the Group Stage has ended and it is not likely that the couple of remaining games will be played, an overview of the matches that were somehow effected by an admin decision or not played or excluded for any other reason:
On average the leader, Interdimension, only gathered 1.46 points per match. The average amount of points earned per match is 67.5 points, this is only 1.14 points per participant per match. This shows us how difficult it has been to correctly predict the outcome for the matches. The maximum amount of points per match is 3 points.
Some more stats now that the Group Stage has finished.
Biggest upsets in the Group Stage (point wise)
March 21st 2016, 8th update
Some of you might be wondering what happened to the promised group placement update. The fact that there wasn't an update was due to the fact that some of the groups are heavily effected by the resignation of the players and therefore we deemed them to be unfair be to be included in the point rewarding. The other groups were simply so difficult to predict, that no-one was able to score a single point!
Any new participants, who entered after the Group Stage, received a starting amount of points, that was equal to the amount of points the participant in last place had. These new participants still have a chance to win the contest, but it will be a tough road ahead for them.
Back to the current update. Still no-one has been able to beat Interdimension to the 1st place, his lead however got reduced from 3 to 2 points again. Interdimension has been in first place for a solid 2 and a half weeks now, or 5 updates. The runner-up is still AgnisAls.
The highest amount of points rewarded after 3 matches of the quarter final is 8 points. This was achieved by 7 participants, however only 2 of them got them, (_blank) Foghorntv and nC_Andorin, by correctly predicting 2 matches, both predicting Yo vs DauT and mentalist vs St4rk correctly.
March 23rd 2016, 9th update
Now that all Quarter Final matches have been played another update.
April 3rd 2016, 10th update
Both the Semi Final games have been played. AgnisAls has been able to replace Interdimension at the top of the table. This will prove to be an exciting and nerve wrecking final round.
April 10th 2016, 11th and final update
In the previous update I predicted an exciting and nerve wrecking final round and I proved to be right. After the result of the 3rd place match Interdimension was in the lead again with a single point. He was able to score 2 points while the number 1 of the leaderboard at the time wasn't able to score a single point. The standing after the match yesterday would have been 1. Interdimension - 74 points; 2. AgnisAls - 73 points. As fate would have it they both predicted a different scoreline, so the Final would also be the decider of the contest. With the score of the final being as it is, Interdimension was able to extent his lead by a point to end the contest where he has been most of the time during the contest, which is at the top of the table.
As announced in the post here there were bonus points up for grabs. 3 points for the most exact predictions and 2 points for the most total amount of points (both only during the knockout stage). psych__ was the winner of the most exact prediction made, he correctly predicted 3 out of the 8 match exactly ( Yo vs DauT | RiuT vs Vinchester | Vinchester vs Yo ). This earned him an additional 3 points and with it he ended as the runner-up of this contest. The other bonus was rewarded to Rein, who was the one and only highest earner of the knockout stage. He gathered 15 out of a possible 33 points. Together with the additional 2 points it was possible for him to rise 14 places to just out of the top 5.
At last I would like to thank all participants and I hope you all had a fun and exciting time participating!
The top 5 of this event:
- Interdimension - 77 points
- psych__ - 76 points
- AgnisAls - 75 points
- Chessfreak_ - 74 points
- pedro - 73 points

We see no changes to the top 10, only mma96 was able to join the top 10. The last quarter final match to be played, TheViper vs RiuT , resulted in an upset. Only 4 participants were able to get points of the match, the participants are _InDuS_TauruS_ (1 point), Arma (2 points), mma96 (1 point) and (_blank) neromelnick (1 point). So in total there 4 participants were able to gather 6 points.
