AOE Leagues 2v2: Season Five

I am pleased to announce the fifth iteration of the AOE Leagues 2v2 tournament! This tournament is open to players of all skill levels. (Teams will be divided into separate, skill-appropriate divisions.)

The season will consist of a round-robin group stage followed by a single-elimination playoff (four teams from each division will advance from the group stage to the playoff). All group-stage sets will be BO3. All playoff sets will be BO5.

Battle begins August 29. The registration deadline is August 23.

Registration is now open. Please register -- after reading the handbook (attached) --- on the 'register' subchannel of the AOE Leagues 2v2 Discord. (Note that the Discord is home to both a 1v1 tournament and a 2v2 tournament. Be sure to register in the 2v2 channel.)

The map pool will consist mostly of classic RM maps, with the addition of two custom maps (thanks to TechChariot and BPDrej):

Open: Gold Rush, Land Madness
Closed: Arena, Hideout
Water: Northern Isles, Rivers
Nomadic: Nomad, Steppe
Other: Socotra, Megarandom
Custom: Kharga, Beaver Dam

Teams that register are committing to play one set per week throughout the duration of the tournament.
