Hi,
I'm doing these full map screenshot timelapses, based on this idea by Blotch.
I've done 3 timelapses, the 3rd one is quite detailed and has more frames. It's also 1v1 so you can see a bit more clearly compare to 2v2 or 4v4. Since these take a long time to generate, if anyone is interested in making timelapse for WiC/classic games, please drop me a message and I'll help you get started. Make sure you see them in 1080p or higher .
How to:
WiC Group Stage [TyRanT]Legends vs Czech4ever Game 1 - Land Nomad
WiC Group Stage [TyRanT]Legends vs Czech4ever Game 5 - 2v2 DM GA
TEL#5 Final - TheViper versus RiuT - Game 1 Arabia

How to:
You'll need AutoHotkey, ffmpeg & imagemagick.
Install AutoHotkey and change the script to
Line 1: Sleep 5 seconds so you have time to Alt + Tab
Line 2: loop a lot of times
Line 8: You need to calculate this, depends on your system. Open the game you want to capture, do 1 capture and see time how long it takes. Then add 3 seconds (more on this later). E.g.: Taking a capture is 10 seconds, you write 13000 (13s).
Open the rec file, put speed at 75 (Speed 75 is about 3x, which give you 3 x 3 = 9 seconds in game time between captures)
Pause
Alt + Tab and run AutoHotkey
Switch back to AoC, unpause and let AutoHotkey does its job, until the game is over.
Use imagemagick to convert BMP to JPEG and then use ffmpeg to generate the video from photos, frame rate = 6 (I'll find the command and make a batch file later, I was using Mac before for these steps so it might not be the same, but that's the idea). If you do it right 1 minute in game is roughly 1 second or less in video time. If you want the video to be even smoother, reduce the time between shots and increase frame rate.
Don't put AoC on speed 100 because it will slow down significantly when game has more units. Put 75 so the time between shots can be almost equal.
Install AutoHotkey and change the script to
Code:
Sleep 5000
Loop 100000
{
Send {Control down}
Send {F12}
Send {Control up}
Send {Space}
Sleep 13000 ; change depends on your system
