But we don't want to be looked down upon; or thought of as people promoting ''rape culture'' if there is such a thing. But you're right, less of a concern for people exclusively playing AoC; or not playing the games the SJWs have blacklisted as ''promoting violence, misogyny and rape culture''. Good to know about it still. When it comes to AOC: we have decent looking female villagers. They make up about 50% of the vill population.
So.. nothing wrong there. You can question the absence of woman in military units... but thts not our fault isnt it?
Anyway i dont think this matter influences the AOC gamers (the pure ones)
Even then; the point is that games are art, and as long as it does not PROMOTE (not display or convey; but PROMOTE) anything violent (which is a myth as research has proven); it should be allowed to show it.sometimes comp says boar slew him, puny 25 hit points, all villagers were male

She was sent images of herself being raped by video game characters
That's false; I think. Wikipedia recently fired a few feminazis for twist-editing the #GG page, but even after the whole article wasn't neutral. From the wikipedia article on the armenian feminist:She was sent images of herself being raped by video game characters
I find it hard to take any of this drama seriously.

Indeed; the internet would be a much better place if the people posting would even just be told that they can be tracked down. All the more reason to respect the brave figures who reveal their true identity on the internet; and don't use it for being a professional victim. Considering how almost impossible it is to not have something negative to be thrown at your online identity; only those who either have a small circle of friends they connect with online and offline can reap the benefits of being online and still not being sworn at by strangers. Some people I know from class have such very limited usage of the web. Their online activities are limited to occasional google searches which land them in wikipedia; porn sites, an RSS newsfeed and their FB profiles. Such usage is one of the only ways one can be connected and still not be hated. Most people wishing to take part in big discussions such as those on #GG on twitte ror reddit will have to endure much punishment for expressing their opinion. But we don't want to be looked down upon; or thought of as people promoting ''rape culture'' if there is such a thing. What does worry me indeed is children/people growing up, being fed by what internet community offers them. Without having a real life outside it, that challenges them, forms them, corrects them. It sounds old-fashioned, but its plain logic.
The internet fools us by making us think we have access to the world, and everything within our grasp. It makes us think we are in the position to judge, we are well-informed and that we are right about ourselves.
On the contrary, internet limits us in our perception of the world. You pick what you want and that is what you get. You select your own friends and environment, and will be encouraged by them in your beliefs.
But you will not be challenged, you will not be corrected when you are wrong. Look for example to our discussion about "rape". Because it is used and accepted inside the community, it is proclaimed to be no problem. Not to us. So who are we? And what is this place we spent our time in? How does it relate to real life, does it have to?
This is elementary to life itself. This is the very base of our evolution. We are shaped by the environment we live in. We adapt to survive: our behaviour should be based on the challenge of real life conditions, the do's and don'ts that come with it. I see moral hygiene as one of the main human instincts, a thing that makes us human instead of beasts. For those who do not understand this, study history. You will find this theme hidden in every page of history.
Now, the behaviour and word-view of the so-called "gamer-society" can be classified as disfunctional, speaking in evolutionary perspective. However its not limited to gaming youth, i see much dirt in forums of all kinds. Therefore it is much more then Gamergate, but an ethical crisis caused by internet, dislodging people from their real life framework.
The freedom to speak without consequences, hiding behind anonimity, and selecting your own groups of friends that fit your bill, are leading to a moral crisis that can be witnessed on any level in global events and our private lives. It will only change when everyone can be hold accountable for any word that has been said, any vote that has been cast and any deed that has been done.
Nothing comes for free, and freedom is an illusion: every action will lead to reaction
Reaxxion is also quite a good source.
I think they're trying to satire the way the SJWs describe it. But doesn't have any warning it is; so point well taken. I know the people there are actually quite unique in their beliefs (and a loooot of them have opinions I don't agree with), but the site is, IO; better than reading it up on a mainstream site where the title will be ''ADL decides to purge the rape culture in games''. As long as we can stay away from the more tin foil hat-covered paragraphs on some of the articles; I think its good in describing the current situation and doing it in a way that doesn't set me off as much XDReaxxion is also quite a good source.
I don't know anything about GamerGate, and I'm not particularly interested either, but I read the article you posted and some others on the same site to see if I could care. Doing so leads me to ask, "a good source" in what way?
http://www.reaxxion.com/5153/the-anti-d ... propaganda
This article includes this genuine paragraph:
'The major problem with most feminists, after all, is that they do not have many children. Thus they must steal other people’s children, and feminists (as well as many other major left-wing organizations) have performed a “march through the institutions” over the past 60 years that have resulted in a total lockdown of the classroom to present their ideas without any criticism or challenge. The result is institutions without free speech, and children being poached from unsuspecting parents'
And another article on a similar bent is absolutely mad in its entirety:
http://www.reaxxion.com/5051/samus-aran ... technology
'In 2009, GameDaily called Samus the video game industry’s “first dominant female, a femme de force that didn’t rely on a man to save her”. Yes, that is certainly an astute observation from the publication, and her lack of need for a helping hand from the opposite gender is quite admirable. But, you must take into consideration that the adaptation of advanced man-made technology is exactly why she does not need a man in the first place. If the minds of men provide all the tools, would a female space warrior (lauded simply for being female) truly be strong and independent without those tools? The equation is rather simple.
No men = no power suit = no space bounty hunter = no revenue = independence lost
Furthermore, even with all manner of power-ups (“empowerments”) that Samus obtains on her missions, she is certainly not immune from death. For no matter how “empowered” she may become with all her fancy blasters, morphing balls, and high jump boots, losing too many energy tanks will disintegrate her power suit and expose her for who she truly is… A fragile blonde white woman, screaming out for Captain-Save-A-Ho (and a breathable atmosphere).'
Again, how does this qualify as a good source?
One of the things I like most about AoC is we don't really get involved with all that mainstream gamer garbage (doritos, mountain dew..) and **** like gamergate
instead we can make our own drama :D
Wait what, as far as I know, gamers are the ones getting tons of twitch viewers while not having any idea how to play, the ones who can play on a server and get a moderator just for being a nice girl without even playing good. Girls are the ones using their adventages the most... And girls can feel like queens sometimes in video games, especially fps ones.I haven't followed it closely. From what I understand, it started with a few people questioning the ethics of the gaming media. Once that started to pick up momentum, the media grouped up together and basically painted all gamers chauvinist pigs who hate women. Sadly due to a small number of people living up to that stereotype, that story has taken over what the original issue was, which is something that needs to be addressed just as badly.
Im pretty sure Africans more need better water system, food supply, normal government, not IT education.http://wiki.gamergate.me/index.php?title=GamerGate_Achievements
Dying out seems premature; but the achievements can't be denied. If nothing; it has at least brought about a consensus about which sites to avoid. And also gave Intel at least small dig in the ribs because some people are boycotting them for flushing $400mil down feminazi frequency's throat. As an AMD guy myself, I welcome this. $400 million is no small sum and the money would be used much better is they donated it to promote IT education in Africa or equal opportunity lobbying in Afghanistan or if those two fail, donated it for an AoE2 tournament or something.
