111 yes, all people is mad.launch was a fail
So basically the game isn't based on skill but based on how my u pay and how much u play?? Get off it bro!Well i was in the beta and prelease. I think this game will get really big, bigger than aoe3 for sure. Yes you need pay $20 for a civ, but thats all you really need unless you just want everything just for the sake of it. For competitive player one civ is enough. Expect to play a lot so you can unlock the "Gears" which make ur units better like 50% better for the best gears (this directly affects multiplayer pvp balance). You can give units varying gears which to me makes it like aoc civs where u can give units hp or attacks or movement speed. So far there is only upto 2v2, but they will add 3v3 and more later on.

Not at all, there's a free-to-play component, which is suitable for new players or the occasional gamer who likes to log into a game a few times a month. But for people who are in Age of Empires series or people who want to play competitive, the paid civs are definitely a must. And heck, it's $20 for a civ. You can try them out for free before you buy them anyways and atm only 2 civs to choose from tooSo basically the game isn't based on skill but based on how my u pay and how much u play?? Its not "based on how much you pay" (cause you pay $20 or nothing and thats that) but on how much you play.. if you are playing for free then for a start u cannot play ranked matches but only the "non rated ones". Either way advertising this game on an aoe2 forums was going to only bring out the hateful comments. Having said that aoe3 was fully deserving of being trashed out, but this aoeo is actually something completely different.
All I can say is that.. I waited long enough for an aoe2 remake and this is the only game that comes close to aoc to me in terms of gameplay and the 2D style graphics (although its actually 3D its nothing like other 3D rts which only add complexity).

So for a full competitive game, it's $40 atm.
