You are using strong words, yet not so adequate, as calling pretentious presenting facts might be, but it won`t change them, nor deny them.
My wish is not to argue over this, but as explained (and luckily people do get it) just to help new players understand what AoFE is more easily, without causing necessary confusion.
When AoC appeared, it was still bugged (and why is AoFE bugged, by the way?) and needed more tweaks very soon (official patches), so I don`t see the difference with AoC there. And a competitive scene is there, too, yet not fully up and running (Voobly) as not everything can be made with magic and words, some effort is needed and they`re making it, and some time is needed for that, too. Don`t forget that Voobly has the anti-cheat which they need to incorporate into AoFE, something that AoC never had on the official server. "10 years since AoC" argument I didn`t quite understand, as AoFE wasn`t developed for 10 years, nor people even now can totally agree with all the small things that need to be changed.
It`s nice to see that you know that AoFE needs "many more tweaks", you can freely report them in the official topic so they can fix them and give us the perfect game
If you don`t like AoFE, that`s totally fine, AoC is still pretty good even with all its bugs and disbalances, and you can call it whatever you like, but please don`t try to claim something that you can`t support, and that doesn`t stand.
What mod? :D And I`m not patching it, people with much more experience than you and me are
I highly doubt I'm the only one who think you're pretentious.
I'm also thinking English is your second language, you seem to misunderstand much I've written or take parts out of context. I don't expect this community Mod to be instantly effective and running flawlessly. However, for something you want to label an unofficial expansion, that's places a lot more expectation on this Mod for it to be ready with the amount of time it's had since release - look at all the recent advertising the game has been given on all of these European gaming websites.
You linked me to ~30 tweaks that were going to be looked into in the first post - that's more than enough to count as "many". I'm sure there will be many more once you gain the competitive playing scene AoFE will have when Voobly starts rating the game with an Anti-Cheat. I look forward to playing it competitively instead of with mostly noobs in the AoFE room on Voobly (GR isn't an option for me - terrible server). Though if this was a real expansion by ES/MS, I'd be appalled by how long the patching has taken in this day and age. Another reason I think it's corny calling it an expansion - don't heap that pressure on a genuinely promising project.
I like AoFE - because I'm not discussing based on subjective feelings toward the Mod does not mean I dislike the game. I'm not terribly interested in your subjective opinions anymore, I can't believe I've gone to these lengths to defend a trivial opinion, shame on me.
